--------------------------------------------------------------RESIDENT EVIL 3 NEMESIS DEMO VERSION --------------------------------------------------------------Please make sure that you read this file carefully before playing this DEMO as it contains information on required hardware specification, software, etc. HARDWARE REQUIREMENT OS: Windows 95/98/98 Second Edition CPU: Pentium 233 MHz or greater (Pentium II 266MHz or greater recommended) RAM: 64MB or more recommended Hard Drive Space: 80MB Monitor: 640 x 480, High Colour (16bit) recommended Input Devices: Keyboard - Joy pad (Microsoft SideWinder recommended) Sound Card: DirectSound compatible sound card (Compatible with DirectX6.1) Video Card: DirectDraw compatible video card (Compatible with DirectX6.1) NOTE: To ensure a stable game play, it is recommended that there is 100 MB of free space on your hard. 3D-acceleration boards are required to play this game. Your 3D-acceleration card must have a minimum of 4MB of RAM installed on your hard drive. Make sure you have the latest driver for your 3D-acceleration card. If you have any problems, please get hold of the most updated drivers from the manufacture of you 3D acceleration card. Currently, Resident Evil 3 Nemesis Demo is compatible with the following 3Dacceleration boards: Voodoo (3Dfx) series boards Voodoo2, Voodoo3, Voodoo Banshee (3Dfx) RIVA (NVIDIA) series boards RIVA128, TNT2, GeForce256 (NVIDIA) 3D RAGE PRO (ATI) series boards 3D RAGE 128 Intel 740(Intel) series boards Savage 3D (S3) series boards Millennium G200, Millennium G400 (Matrox) boards STARTING THE DEMO Please follow the instructions below before starting this demo. 1. This game requires Direct X 6.1 or later and DirectX Media 6 or later. If you do not have this software installed, please install this software before playing this demo. If you have a connection to the internet, you can download Direct X from the following sites: http://www.microsoft.com/ or http://www.microsoft.com/directx/homeuser/downloads/default.asp NOTE: If you are not sure that the software is installed, please install DirectX and DirectX Media. 2. Click on "ResidentEvil3_menu.exe" to run the Launcher. 3. Click on "Run Resident Evil 3 -NEMESIS-" on the Launcher screen. If an error occurs, please click on "ResidentEvil3.exe" to run the game. 4. The difficulty setting of this demo is "HARD". "EASY" mode is only available in

the full version. LAUNCHER Below is the description of each command in the Launcher. Run Resident Evil 3 NEMESIS: Starts the demo. Online Manual: Allows you to view the online manual. Go to CAPCOM website: This is a link to CAPCOM's website. Go to EIDOS website: This is a link to EIDOS' website. Video Settings: Allows you to change the video settings of the game. Quit: Allows you to quit the Launcher. NOTE: To view the Online Manual and to access CAPCOM or EIDOS websites (need an internet connection), you must have an internet browser installed. CONTROLS AND INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO PLAY THIS GAME Please refer to the "Online Manual". Click on "Online Manual" from the launcher to view the manual. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - You cannot save or load any games in this demo version. - When manually changing the keys in "Controls" in the OPTION window (Press F5 to display this window), please be careful not to assign two or more keys to the same function. E.g. Assigning "forward" and "view map" to the same key. - Please note that the key "M" can also be used to skip the door animation in the game. For joypad users, the default key to skip the door animation is "X" button. Lastly, "M" key can also be used to skip the intro movie. - If an error message relating to "OLE" is displayed on the screen and the game does not run at all, you may have an older version of Windows 95. After starting Windows 95, please right-click your mouse on "My Computer" icon usually located on the upper left-hand corner of the screen. A menu will be displayed on the icon. From the menu, click "Properties" to display the Properties Window. In this window, you will see a heading called "System" under the "General" tab. Under this heading, if it says "Microsoft Windows 95 4.00.950a" then, it would mean that you have an older version of Windows 95. If this is the case, Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater must be installed before playing Resident Evil 3 on your computer. This is because; the older version of Windows 95 lacks certain components that the newer Windows 95 and 98 have to run advanced applications such as Resident Evil 3. By installing Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater, these components missing from the older version of Windows 95 is installed into Windows 95. Thus, allowing the computer to run more advanced applications. -This demo is work in progress code, pre-dating full compatibility testing and code optimisation. As a result, the user may experience graphical glitches when running demo in conjunction with the certain video cards. The user may also experience other problems.
