The Effects of Parents Involvement on Students Academic Performance We all know the education starts at home and the parents serves as the first teacher. But as the years passed by parents involvement on their children’s education was obviously decreasing. Because both of the parent were push or oblige to work to provide for their family. And some parents need to have multiple jobs to meet the ends. As a result, they were not able to guide and monitor the learning acquisition of their children. Topor.2010 stated that “Parenting involvement is one factor that has been consistently related to a child’s increased academic performance.” Because parents serves as a motivation for a students to become appreciative and performing during the learning process. According to Sandler and Sheldon.2009, Richardson.2009, Sheldon.2009. “Many researchers recognized the importance of a strong bond between homes and school, plays in the development and education of children.” Traditionally most parents rely on the teacher in terms of education of their children. And the sole responsibility of was passed on the teacher’s shoulder and was always blamed for the poor performance of a student. Studies have shown that students become more productive and have positive attitude if their parents are aware, knowledgeable and involve.
