Research project

In Catalonia, it’s compulsory for the C.V. of 2nd Batx. students to do a research project. Some people agree, but a lot of people disagree with this paper. In my opinion, this research shouldn’t be compulsory. First of all, Catalan students must study, apart form the common subjects of the rest of Spain, Catalan; meanwhile Spanish students must not study it. This means that it is more difficult for us to pass second batxillerat. If it is more difficult for us, it is illogical to do, a research project. I am inclined to believe that, maybe in the origins, this was a measure to help us how to do a research project in the real life. But now it has changed a lot. Each high school decides how long the research lasts and the dates to present it, so it means that, maybe, in Barcelona, the paper could take two weeks and in Figueres two months. To sum up, I think that this project could be planned like a way to learn how to do research projects, but now it is not necessary because we have a lot of work.
