REPORTED STATEMENTS We can report what someone said in two ways:
In the Direct Speech: repeating the exact words. “We lived in Paris for two years”, Peter said.
In the Reported Speech: without the exact words. “Peter told us (that) they had lived in Paris for three years”.
In the reported speech:
No Between commas. The reporting verbs introduce the sentence: After SAY, TELL, THINK y SUGGEST we can omit THAT. Accept, agree, announce, apologise, ask, beg, claim, complain, declare,explain,insist,invite,offer, point out, protest, remind, remark, state, think. The verb changes to an anterior tense Pronouns change coherentically. Time and place expressions can change, too
