INTRODUCTION

Now-a-days Cotton Spinning Industry plays an important role in the economy of all the countries. India being a largest Agricultural Country it also gives importance to the Textile Industry. The Textile production covers Various such as Ginning, Spinning, Weaving, Bleaching, and Dyeing.

Many Spinning Mills have been started gradually in and around Rajapalayam, Srivilliputtur, Virudhunagar and Theni. Raw materials and Workers are Available in the above mentioned areas at cheaper,that minimize the production Cost at these areas.

So, we are exposed to various famous areas, in order to develop a deep knowledge about the Institutions situated at Rajapalayam. Also this industrial Training is helpful to develop our carreer and for our further stidies. We decide to do our Institutional Job Training at “SRI

Rajapalayam. We Went and meet the General Manager Mr.AZHAGU PANDIAN and we produce the permission letter from our college and he discussed with his managing director and got permission to undergone training in their esteemed organization.

HISTORY OF THE COMPANY

Sri Saravana Textiles Private Limited is a Composite Private Limited Company Established in the year 1984. Initially It was started by Mr.V.S.PERUMAL RAJA, under the name and style of “Chari Textiles Private Limited” in 1973 having passed the necessary Resolution in terms of the Company Act 1956 and the approval of the Ministry of law the company name has been changed as “SARAVANA TEXTILES PRIVATE LIMITED”, in 29/04/1983. After that Mr.D.VENKATRAJ one of the Director of the company was appointed as Managing Director of the company by its Board of Directors by passing necessary Resolution in the Board Meeting. The Registered Office of the Company at 114/1-A, Srivilliputtur Road, Melapattam Karisalkulam, Rajapalayam Taluk.

ORGANISATION PROCESS 3.1 producton department In each concern Production is very important and there is a separate Building for production of Yarn. The life of the concern essentially based on the Production Department. The Production Department of this Company under the Control of Mr.S.VENKATA SUBRAMANIAN, who is the supreme authority in the factory side. The total output of this company is6000 Kgs/day. This Company plays an important role in manufacturing Yarn. There is excellent cordial Relationship between the workers and the Management. Purchase of Raw Materials Purchasing constitutes the part of Company without purchase Department no concern can achieves its objectives. In this concern there is an effective Purchase Department with Cotton Purchase Officer. The proficiency of the company i.e., the quality of the Finished Product lies on the selection of Raw Materials. The main Function of this department is to Purchasethe Worth full and Valuable Raw Materials. The Raw Materials was purchased through Direct and Through Brokers. Seasonal Purchase The basic Raw Materials required for Producing Yarn is RAW COTTON. Mostly they purchase Raw materials as per their requirement and also as per the fluctuating in the market they are deeply watching day to day Cotton Market

Places of Raw Cotton Purchase The Raw Materials are purchased from ANDHRA PRADESH, MADHYA PRADESH, GUJARAT and KARNATAKA. Purchase Procedure  Supplier has to send Quotation along with the following Details to the purchase Department.  The Cotton officer will Test the sample received from the seller and he will discuss with the supplier about the sample.  Best Quotation will be selected based on the Level of Quality and Price.  Finally the Order will be placed through Brokers or directly with the supplier. The following details are collected from the supplier while procuring cotton for their production.  Cotton Sample  Type of Cotton with Station  Price  Tax & Duties  Terms of Payment  Mode of Delivery

3.2 PURCHASE DEPARTMENT

Cotton is the only material using in this concern for their production. The Managing Director and The General Manager is taking much keen interest in procuring the quality cotton in the apt season for 65% of the requirement for the year and then they purchase as per the Market conditions and the Rate fluctuations. This Department is purchasing Various Quality of Cotton from various places for Spinning 20’s,30’s,40’s Counts of Yarn.

GODOWN Godown is under the control of Purchase Department. They are maintaining Godown Card. Godown is located for easily unloading the cotton bales and easily supply the cotton to the Blow Room which is the place the production start up in the mill.They are maintaining Records for both inward and outward of cotton bales.

Purchase Budget Overall Purchasing budget will be established on the basis of the requirement of Production Department, A budget is merely a concrete Plan for an efficient Purchasing.

3.3. FINANCIAL DEPARTMENT Finance is the lifeblood of business. Financing refers to the planning and provisions of fund at the time it is wanted for the purpose of Investments and conduct of a business venture in the form of Capital or Credit. Sources of Funds This Concern raises their Funds in both Internal as well as External sources. 3.4. PERSONAL DEPARTMENT Number of Workers Totally 380 Workers are working in the Company. Office Staff is about 25 members and Workers are about 350 members. Recruitment Recruitment of a new Employee is Primary function of this Department. The Company to Recruit a New Employee only through External Sources i.e., by giving Advertisement or considering the recommendation of the present employees. Selection of Employee In the Process of Employment, the person who posses potential ability, Qualification to perform job can get a job. In Case of appointment for the Technical Person the Company adopts the following procedure. i.

Scrutinizing the application received from the applicant

Selection and appointment are made by top level executives

Training and Devolopment There is no separate department for training and development. In this company new employees are trained are trained by service employees or by the Technical Supervisor.

Provident Fund The Company has deducting Provident Fund from the employee salary as per the norms prescribed by the Employees Provident Fund Organization, i.e., 12% as emplyee share and 12% as Employer share. Employer share of 12% has been separated as 8.33% and 3.67% for pension Scheme and 3.67% added to the employee share and Employees are getting total of 15.67% as their share. This company has deposit both the employee and employer share to the Provident Fund Account every month within the the stipulated time. ESI Employee and Employer contribution are collected and paid as per the norms prescribed under Employees state Insurance Corporation Act. I.

Employer Contribution a sum equal to 4.75% of Total Wage bill of all Emplloyees.

Bonus Bonus is given to the employees during Deepavali Festival. The Bonus is given to the Employees as per their service. 10 Years and above Sevice

Objectives of an Office  To Receive and Collect Information for the business  To Record Business Information  To Furnish Information to the Management and Others  To Maintain the Business related records  To safeguard the Assets  To have a Contact with the public. 3.6. SALES DEPARTMENT The processed Yarn is send to Marketing areas (Karur, Erode, Salem, Komarapalayam,

Somanur,

Ekambarakuppam(Andhra),

Itchalkaranji(Maharastra). The sales manager sending their Yarn samples to the Brokers or to the parties directly those who approached through phone. Based upon the Market conditions they sell their Yarns at the best Rate. The sales Department is deeply watching the market day to day and submitting the market report to the Managing Director for Finalizing the Yarn Rate.

Cash Sales & Credit Sales In Sales Department there are two types of sales they are following i.e., CASH SALES and CREDIT SALES. They are doing cash sales to meet out their immediate requirements of Funds for purchasing cotton at lower price. During Cash Sales they are receiving payment some times in Advance or immediately on receiving the goods. To encourage the cash sales they are giving 1% discount to their buyers. In credit sales they give 30 to 40 days credit to their buyers. In its simple terms a market means a place where goods are bought or sold now a days. A large number of varieties of goods are produced on the basis of the demand. So, there is keen competition among the manufacturers. Everyone in the modern world is tried to outbid the other claiming superiority of articles over his competition. The ultimate success of any business unit depend on its ability to sale their products in the competitive market. Local Sale Yarn sales are done within the state is called local sales. In local sales, they sell the goods within Tamilnadu Karur, Erode, Salem, Komarapalayam, Somanur. Consignment Sales & Interstate Sales Consignment Sales is an agreement between mill and the party an arrangement in which goods are left in the possession to sell on behalf of

the mill at their place of Business and the consignee receives a percentage of the revenue from the sale as commission. Consignment sales agreement can made one year or two depends upon the interest and understanding between both the consignor and the consignee. In consignment sales the tax should be collected at the time of sales where the sales is taken part and tax applicable as per the law of the state which the sales, this sales have no agreement and the Tax payable is applicable as per the law and tax are collected at the time of billing itself for goods moving from their place to another place they issuing Form JJ as per the Sales Tax Rules.

CONCLUSION

This training provides us all the opportunity to learn about the Spinning Mills Process and the functions in it. Further, it has given us a sense of self-discipline and self confidence to face any competitive environment. We got a clear cut idea, hoe the Spinning process starts and how it runs through different stage and where it ends. And also the training provides us what are the records to be maintained and procedures to follow for the business. We are very much impressed on the Job Training program it given us a confidence to face the challanging and the competitive job in the Textile Mills.
