Ayurveda says that there are three kinds of Doshas (Tridosha) - Vata, Pitta and Kapha, and the imbalance(Vikruti) of these Doshas (or Dosas) is the root cause of most of our physical and mental problems. Is there scientific evidence for reiki? In order for any medicine or treatment method to be accepted into the mainstream health care system, evidence is needed that the medicine/method is effective and safe. Reiki, being medicine-less and non-ivasive (non-manipulative) can be regarded as safe, or at least there is no known established case of negative effects of reiki, till now. That leaves the question of effectiveness. Is reiki effective? Let us look at findings of some research organizations –

What is Healing? How do you define healing? So many people interpret healing in physical terms only. When you get rid of a debilitating physical condition, it is said that you are healed. Most people when talking about healing refers to this physical healing only. There is another healing - at the mental/spiritual level. For me healing is all about finding the inner peace within me. When i am at peace with myself, when outside circumstances can not create imbalance in my thought process - that is healing for me. »

There is no fixed time limit to learn or complete these levels. Its more of a guru disciple tradition. The guru or master decides if the disciple is capable enough of learning the reiki levels. It is another matter that nowadays some teachers are completing all III levels of training within a few weeks! »

what is reiki I believe there exists one supreme being - the absolute infinite - a dynamic force that governs the world and universe. It is an unseen spiritual power that vibrates and all other powers fade into insignificance beside it. So, therefore, it is absolute!...I shall call it "Reiki"... Being an universal energy from the Great Divine Spirit, it belongs to all who seek and desire to learn the art of healing. - Hawayo Takata
