REFLECTION ON FILMS Date: 9/15/09 Your name: Nathan The title of the film: Spice Island Saga Name the islands that you remember from the film (you may write the names in Indonesian if you know how): Aru and Spice Islands Name the ethnic groups that you remember from the film (you may write the names in Indonesian if you know how): the Boogies : What did you find interesting about this film? Just about everything. The sea draws upon itself. What were the thoughts that came to mind after you watched this film? I suppose that humans will always find ways to approachtheir natural state, which can appear quite wild. Or that they should. Of course I rarely trust a filmmaker. But it must be relieving to live as humans naturally do in one’s own homeland, which is not feasible in most of the world and perhaps notin these islands any longer, either. I am implying that signing into this computer below buzzing machines and artificial lighting, straining to remember my half dozen PINs, to complete non-substantial ‘work’ for abstract and indirect reasons is not as human as what was seen on the film, except as an expression of human adaptability. Uhhh, that sounds like garbage. I just miss the ocean, and loathe pavement, and REALLY want to go to Papua,or Papua 100 years ago, or WA or Grand County 300 years ago. Am I witnessing the infection of a relic? I have been instructed to not think of it that way…
