Rap and Society I US History II Mr. Benson 1.26.2007 This is the first lesson for our Rap and Society curriculum. The idea is that we will all teach each other through discussion and questions. Feel free to blurt out answers and ideas. There are no wrong answers. Grades issued during theses sessions will be based solely on participation; learning is an active process. On some days we will be listening to rap songs from different time periods and watching clips from movies associated with rap music. Today’s lesson will be focused on your current perceptions through word association. When you hear a subject concerning rap, or an artists’ name, blurt out what comes to mind. Copy what is recorded on the board; these are your thoughts and your classmate’s thoughts
