13. Please write your career objectives, including how you propose to contribute to IIT Gandhinagar, in less than 300 words. (Use an additional sheet) My career objectives are: 1. To impart quality education to students and to help them in becoming a better engineer / scientist and a better citizen. 2. To contribute in a very significant in my area of research and have a good standing and respect among my peers. I see my role at IIT Gandhinagar as a Professor/Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering. The task will not be easy, but I see my role as establishing and coordinating the department and also setting research facilities at a fast pace. I also envision solving industrial problems at IIT Gandhinagar. This is quite an important element missing in my present job primarily because of the very few polymer/chemical industries in Punjab.
I currently am supervising five PhD and one M.Tech students (ongoing). After joining IIT Gandinagar, I will continue giving full support and advice to these students. I envisage taking more students as a supervisor at IIT Gandhinagar and try to get a number of research projects from funding agencies (something which is quite difficult to get at Thapar University, being a private institute).
PLEASE PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WITH THE APPLICATION: Note: i. Use separate sheet for each sub-heading in the format indicated. ii. All annexures must bear your name. a)
