On June 4-7, 2009 RMN Networks and Philcycling Davao headed by Salvador “Jun” Paholio, Jr. – VP for Mindanao and Chairman of Samahang Siklista Kooperatiba ng Dabaw (ssikadabaw) will bring to you the first-ever four-city Mindanao-wide cycling tournament dubbed as the RACE FOR PEACE / The 1st MINDANAO TOUR covering the wide, crisscrossing contours of South Central Mindanao, specifically Davao City-General Santos City-Koronadal CityCotabato City and vice versa to bring the universal message of peace & harmony thru sports. This 574-kilometer four-day road challenge will showcase the riding & navigational skills of our esteemed riders, their indomitable spirit in the face of the toughest physical strain, their agility and their unparalleled endurance to highlight our crusade in the name of peace and tranquility for all. As a powerful tool & effective medium to carry social campaigns, the RACE FOR PEACE will chiefly banner our wide call for the primacy of peace to reign all over our land as a prelude to the impending advent of genuine harmony amongst our peoples, and hence, our country’s unstoppable progress. Team riders from various riding clubs and bike organizations in Visayas & Mindanao are expected to send in their team of best-fighting cyclists and road ‘warriors for peace,’ so to speak in a bid to convincingly capture the handsome plum & cash pot of P100, 000-Winning Team; P75, 000-First Runner-Up; P50, 000-Second Runner-Up; P30,000-Third Runner-Up; P20,000-Fourth RunnerUp. On top of the equally exciting bunch of individual & Lap Winners cash components and other giveaways, one also gets the rare honor or being virtual peace ambassadors for Mindanao to the world.
