QuickTıme VR Building upon its industry-standard QuickTıme technology, Apple offers QuickTıme VR, a multiplatform software technology for creating a new class of multimedia imagery. With QuickTıme VR, virtual reality images of just about anything—from the inside of a new condominium complex to the outside of an automobile—can be explored interactively. QuickTıme VR objects and panoramas allow viewers to explore virtual spaces, where they can look around, zoom in, and even pick up specific objects and view them from various angles and perspectives. And for developers, QuickTıme VR provides an innovative new tool for developing interactive content for CD-ROMs and World Wide Web sites. ®

With QuickTıme VR, you can create photographic-quality virtual reality images that can be explored interactively. This makes QuickTıme VR an excellent choice for delivering highquality panoramic movies on the Internet. In fact, many companies today, such as BMW, use QuickTıme VR panoramas on their World Wide Web sites.
QuickTıme VR QuickTıme VR allows developers to create—and users to enjoy—a true virtual reality experience. With QuickTıme VR run-time software, a Macintosh or PC user can walk through a so-called “real world” space, looking around the environment and zooming in on and examining specific objects. All without requiring any additional hardware other than a mouse and keyboard. QuickTıme VR enables this experience because it incorporates two new techniques: Panoramas allow a user to view a 360° scene by panning left and right or up and down. Objects allow a user to pick up and examine items, such as a sculpture in a museum or a vase in an online store. In addition, the award-winning QuickTıme VR Authoring Tools Suite provides a range of flexible development tools, allowing virtual reality environments to be captured by conventional 35mm photography methods (or, of course, new-generation digital cameras) or created using computer-generated images. You can also use authoring tools (such as the Apple® Media Tool) to take advantage of interactive “hot spots” in QuickTıme VR scenes to trigger audio, video, text screens, still images, or other QuickTıme VR panoramas and objects.
