QuickTıme At the core of Apple’s multimedia strategy, QuickTıme is the multiplatform industry-standard architecture used by multimedia software tool vendors, content creators, and production professionals to store, edit, and play synchronized video, sound, graphics, text, and music for delivery through a wide range of media such as CD-ROM and the Internet. QuickTıme is an open, published, extensible architecture that allows developers and creative professionals to create stunning titles for delivery on multiple platforms. ®

Used by more and more Internet, content, and development tools providers, QuickTıme has become the pervasive container and delivery technology for multimedia content on CD-ROM and on the Internet. It is ideal for creating rich multimedia content that integrates video, audio, music, animation, 3D, and more.

QuickTıme Introduced in 1991, QuickTıme is now available for Macintosh®, Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows NT, and other platforms, which makes “author once, playback anywhere” a reality.

QuickTıme supports any compression/decompression standard including M-JPEG, Cinepak, Indeo, and others, minimizing the size and maximizing the playback quality of your multimedia content. For digital video professionals, QuickTıme supports multiprocessing systems, enables professional-quality video editing, and supports M-JPEG transcoding and SMPTE time code. The powerful QuickTıme Music Architecture provides music professionals and multimedia developers the opportunity to include custom sound synthesizers and instruments in music tracks, giving their content a distinctive aural presence.
