Director's Profile Dr. Das has over 26 years of work experience in the corporate sector and in academics. He was with Shriram Chemicals, Kota and WIPRO Information Technology Ltd. before moving over to academics. He has been a consultant to the World Bank; IDRC, Canada; GTZ, Germany (through GWB, Germany); Coal India Ltd; Ministry for Development of the North East Region (GOI); Globe Cast (A division of French Telecom); etc. He has many publications in international and national journals and has conducted numerous training programmes. He joins Accurate Institute of Management and Technology from Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM-Lucknow) where he was the founder Dean (Noida Campus) and a professor of marketing. Accurate Education & Research Society

Accurate Group is one of the leading manufacturers of Electrical/Electronic products especially of Distribution & Power transformers in the country. Mr. C.L. Sharma, the Chairman started with a small company in 1986 with a vision, to be one of the leading engineering enterprises in India and today is amongst the top few in its line of business. The products and services are known for their superior quality adhering to global standards. Accurate Transformers was established in 1987, and pioneered the manufacture of Transformers at a time when most electrical equipments were imported. The first plant was set up at Ghaziabad. Since then further plants have been added which are situated at Greater Noida, Sikandarabad, Dehradun and Haridwar.

Accurate Education & Research Society was established in 2005 under the visionary leadership of Mr. C.L. Sharma, Chairman - Accurate Group. The aim of the Society is to provide education in various fields of Engineering, Technology & Management and creating a pool of professionally qualified, skilled managers and entrepreneurs of world class standard. As a first step, in 2006 the society has set up an Engineering and Management Institute where all the courses are approved by AICTE and the three batches of Engineering and Management have already been successfully inducted. The members of the society are having rich experience and have sufficient technical knowledge in the field of establishment of educational projects. Accurate has emerged as a research and case driven residential B-School, attempts to synergise what is best in India with the best of the world.

Shri C.L. Sharma is a seasoned corporate doyen having decades of experience in promoting and excelling par excellence in the areas of electrical and electronic products. His innovative approach towards transforming business and human lives is uniquely blended with the entrepreneurial zeal with a passion for excellence in the areas of academics, research, consulting and corporate training and it gives him the competitive edge above the contemporary corporate doyens. In 2005, the Accurate Group entered into an area of national importance "RURAL ELECTRIFICATION" by undertaking Turnkey projects under various schemes to provide the infrastructural support to people at grassroots for their livelihood and contributing towards the upliftment of the economy.

Now the society is in the process to establish two new management institutes and has proposed to setup Medical College and teaching hospital at Agra. The aim is to cater different segments of the society and to contribute constructively and meaningfully in national growth and development.

Centre for Corporate Relations Accurate Institute has established a dedicated Centre for Corporate Relations for enhancing the exposure of the students to the corporate world and to act as an interface between the Institution and the corporate world. The Centre for Corporate Relations works in conjunction with the specific needs and career aspiration of the individual student. The CCR has a focused approach on counseling and guiding each and every student so as to help him/her in getting the best of the companies.

100% Placement Record

Carrying on accurate legacy, Accurate achieved 100% placement for its inaugural batch and will carry on the practice into successive batches. At accurate right from the admissions to curriculum design and choice of specialization, the entire programme is designed keeping in mind the importance of placements. A dedicated team of accurate faculty works full time with the student placement committee to meet, correspond and network with various companies locally and overseas, to explore the market needs. The entire gamut of academic activities are oriented to provide the best possible placement to the students in leading corporate houses/MNCs preferably in Delhi NCR as well as in other parts of India.

International Study Tour This is an exercise in understanding the market and the working of organizations in the developed and the developing countries of the globe and the students also get an opportunity to observe theories being applied in professional practice. The study tour includes visits to transnational companies, universities and B-Schools. It would also provide them with a clear picture of new business challenges and dynamics in global operations of business enterprises.

Regular Industrial Interaction The Institute has always realized the need for effective interface with industry and business and has undertaken the task of strengthening the linkages with them. The industrial visits provide opportunity for the students to get on the ground feel about industry and understand the systems and procedures involved in running an organisation. In order to have better understanding of management, industry visits are organized for students in consultation with the concerned faculty.

Online Course Management System The Institute in its endeavor to produce world class technobusiness professionals, has implemented OCMS (Online Course Management System) to facilitate the teaching and learning process of the budding managers by leveraging web technologies and web based software. The OCMS facilitates the teachers and the students in broadening the horizon of learning beyond the classroom with the help of latest technology in the wi-fi enabled campus. The IT center

The campus is interconnected with internet & intranet with broadband connection. The IT center is fully equipped with latest configured machines linked to a wide range of Software, printers, and scanners. It comprises of large number of P-IV machines with world class servers. The full-fledged Wi-Fi network caters to the network requirements of the faculty and the students.

Conference Hall

The Institute has a big Conference Hall which accommodates meetings & seminars. Apart from this the hall is also used for group discussion and Socio-cultural functions.

Auditorium

The academic life at Accurate goes beyond the curriculum. For cultural and social functions, the auditorium with a capacity of 250 seats at the campus provides an ideal platform for students to express themselves in public speech, theatres, plays and general entertainment.

Accommodation

Accurate Institute boasts of a well furnished and aesthetically designed hostel. It has been constructed in a view to provide excellent amenities to the students. Living away from home and adapting to new surroundings is not an easy task. We at Accurate comprehend that the quality and availability of lodging is a major concern to all students, which is why we have well furnished contemporary style rooms. The rooms are spacious and clean with excellent hygiene and regular maintenance. The Institute has separate hostels for boys and girls. The lodging is divided into single (on extra payment) and generously spacious twin-sharing rooms. All rooms are spacious and have been provided with separate beds, study tables and cupboards. Each floor has facility for clean toilets and bathrooms. Hot water is provided during winter season. There is 24-hour power back-up. The students also have a common television room and to enhance their living experience, indoor recreational activities like table tennis, carrom, and pool-table are available. Living on campus is a comfortable experience for Accuratians as it gives them an opportunity to use the other facilities like Library and computer lab till late in the evening. There is dedicated team of employees and highly dedicated security force, which ensures proper security to students. The employees are extremely helpful and co-operative.

Accurate in Greater Noida

Greater Noida (NCR-Delhi) is one of the most happening destination and the fastest-developing center of attraction for the Indian youth from all over India as it is home to a plethora of elite educational institutions. It's a world class city planned with an obsession and has a comprehensive infrastructure in terms of wide roads, malls, official complexes, parks and impeccable law and order. It is a city where future is present with all the ultra modern infrastructure. With students forming a large chunk of population, the city is an ideal spawning ground for educational excellence. It is a land locked city situated near river Hindon having an extreme type of continental climate. July to September are monsoon months, followed by pleasant weather till November. The Programmes

PGDM Two-Year (Full Time) Post Graduate Diploma in Management duly approved by AICTE, Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The course consists of 6 terms with International study tour. The programme has been developed with innovative teaching methodology ensuring thorough grooming of students in fundamental concepts in management and concurrently developing in them business and technology skills for meeting the challenges. The students will also be exposed to all the concepts of economy, environment, societal and human values and business ethics. The focus of the programme is on professionalism, hardwork and high changing business environment. The course objectives are: - To produce future managers who become effective leaders with great potential to take organization to top level in today's competitive world. - To train students using national & international examples in order to develop a global mind-set so that they can face the challenges of global competition. - To enable students practice transferable skills so that they can understand the social, economic, political, technological and ecological environment of modern society and their characteristic values. - Above all, developing entrepreneurship among the students so that they can analyze problems and develop solutions on an industry-wide basis. The ever-changing corporate world is increasingly looking for technobusiness managers having diverse skill sets. Accurate has the unique distinction of providing the dual specialization with updated curriculum and well structured teaching pedagogy for the PGDM participants so as to equip them to cater to the increasing challenges and to enable them to leverage the emerging opportunities in the corporate world. The PGDM students are required to indicate the choice of two area(s) of specialization to be opted in the second year i.e. at the commencement of the fourth term in second year. Twelve elective courses i.e. six each from the two opted areas of specialization are to be completed spread over three terms in the second year for Dual specialization. The course offers dual specializations out of Marketing, Finance, HR and IT.

Marketing The curriculum focuses on latest marketing trends and strategies that expose marketing professionals to key realities and issues in the market place. Specialization in marketing gives the student an access to the latest information, training, resources and networking. Marketing specialists could get jobs in selling, retailing, advertising, marketing research and product brand management.

Finance

At Accurate there will be thorough grounding on the basics of financial language and hone strategic financial decision making skills so that the students will be able to harness the theoretical tools of accounting, economics, market structures and banking to generate wealth and can become successful managers in the fast changing business environment.

HR

Human resource implies proper utilization of its human capital for maximum productivity in order to maintain a proper growth of the company. The curriculum includes the areas of training and development, career and organizational development and is designed in a way to have new methods and techniques.

Education at Accurate is intended to be a life changing experience that will shape the professional identity and influence the thinking for the rest of the life. At Accurate, the shaping of future managers is done through several methods outlined here by highly qualified and experienced faculty. - Lectures by faculty members give necessary inputs to the students. The lectures are given making use of the latest audio-visual teaching aids like OHPs, overhead LCD projection systems and whiteboards. - An opportunity is given to each student to develop his/her problem-solving and presentation skills. - Accurate strives to improve the quality of education by extensive industry interface, practicing the 3-I concept (Industry-Institute-Interface). Guest lectures from industry leaders/experts in different areas of industry are arranged to provide valuable insights into contemporary business and industrial practices. - Projects and assignments form an integral part of the curriculum. Several projects are identified for the student to select from. - Learning through seminars, workshops and conferences encourage professional discussions among students and practicing managers. - Role playing gives students a chance to live the roles and practice the concepts before hand. Computerized business games simulate the real business world environment.

Corporate Exposure

Summer Internship for eight weeks is an indispensable part of the curriculum to supplement the learning in the class room. The PGDM students are required to join a leading corporate house/MNC to pursue eight weeks summer internship/training to undertake a summer research project in the month of MayJune. The summer Project Guide of the concerned company sends periodic feedback to the Institute. Summer Internship is an essential pre-requisite for the award of the PGDM Diploma.

Digital Edge

Today's management practitioners must be thorough with the latest technology and be sensitive to the importance of ethical and human values. All the students are provided with a laptop so that they become good techno business managers. For International exposure and cross culture relationship, we take our students to developing or developed nation of the world.

Functional area wise list of Electives The Institute offers dual specialization out of the below mentioned electives to a minimum number of 20 students opting for each specialization. Programme Highlights The PGDM(IB) at Accurate has the unique distinction of providing the specialization so as to equip them to meet increasing challenges in the corporate world. The students are required to indicate the choice of one specialization to be opted in the second year i.e. at the time of commencement of the fourth term in the second year.

Summer Training-After completion of three terms in the first year, the students undergo summer training of six to eight weeks in the month of May-June. The students are required to submit a presentation on the summer project and a viva-voice before a panel of experts will be held.

Laptop-The laptops are provided to students to use the latest and high configuration software. The students generally use the laptop for preparing their project reports and assignments. They can access special course software in and out of the classroom. They can easily access the internet and create advance presentation.

International Study Tour makes them familiar with global environment and international business units and their working. Global exposure is must to work in a multi cultural environment. The week long international study tour promote the acquisition of a global business perspectives.

Foreign Language-In International business, knowledge of a popular foreign language is a great competitive tool. The students will undergo rigorous course in a major language.

Career Opportunities in Retail It's a challenging and glamorous field where various career opportunities awaits you. Merchandising-This is mainly concerned with buying the goods for the store. This is the most challenging field as the managers needs to have negotiating skills necessary to make a good deal for the organization. Inventory Management-A manager will be in charge of maintaining the right stock for furnishing the demand of the present and the prospective customers and also will be in charge of warehousing and distributing the goods to the retail store. Supply Chain Management-The manager keeps track of the raw material and the finished goods reaching the store at right time. Here the manager is a link between the supplier, manufacturer and the buyer. Marketing-Marketing starts with the identification of a specific need on the part of the consumer and ends with the satisfaction of that need. It is all about showcasing the store to the customer. Why Retail Management

The retailing scene in India has changed dramatically in the past 15-years and is continuously changing. India is becoming the most attractive market for Retail investment. At present India is the fifth largest retail destination globally. Companies and the corporate are investing in the development of retail stores (as Westside by TATA, Music World by RPG, Crossroad by Piramals, Shopper's Stop by Rahejas, Big Bazaar, Titan and so on). - The Economic Times Report-Retailing in India (2003) estimated the size of organized retailing at Rs. 16,000 Crore in 2001-02 with a growth of 18-20 percent per annum. Based on these estimates, organized retailing is expected to cross Rs. 37,000 Crore sales mark by the year 2008. - India's organized retail market is estimated at only 3% but is expected to reach 10% by 2010Industry body ASSOCHAM (June 2007). - The government has opened the sector partially with 51% FDI permission in 'single-brand retailing' - Organized retail has increased its share from 5% of total retail sales in 2006 to 8% in 2008 A study by Deloitte Haskins and sells. Driven by changing lifestyle and strong income growth, Indian retail is expanding at a rapid pace. This boom in the retail market is expected to generate about 2 Million jobs by 2010 (FICCI news by Sahara Times, May 2006). And only few premier institutes are offering Retail management developing only a small

number of trained professionals every year. PGCM (RM) is a condensed job oriented course and a faster way to climb up the ladder of earning money. The experience will vastly improve your career prospects and make you an employable professional who possesses good knowledge, proven skills and an ability to improve your capabilities on a continuous basis. Thus every student passing out from this course of retail management shall get a warm welcome by the Retail Industry.

Course Structure This is a Certificate programme approved by AICTE and consists of 15months. First 9-months are of learning modules and in the next 2-terms, students go for a 6-months period of supervised training in retail sector leading to the submission of a dissertation. The Ist term, core modules set out to establish a sound comprehension of the retailing concepts, fundamentals, economic and organizational context of studies. In the subsequent terms, students will enhance their knowledge by individual skill as well as develop sound knowledge of various managerial functions of retailing business. Later on, the students will concentrate on making strategic level decisions, which drive retail businesses forward. Furthermore students can devise a project and examine any issue that interests him in retailing career. In the last term, student will devote to a period of supervised work experience in retail company. This can vary from store management responsibilities including merchandising, customer service, tariffs, barriers & other retail functions. To facilitate the process, the teaching timetable is blocked into 6-hour sessions divided into pre-noon and post-noon of 3-hours each, plus one hour of tutorial assistance leaving you with ample periods for you to undertake the various tasks that you will need to perform as part of each module element. 17

Seminars, workshops and conferences

The Institute organizes seminars on the contemporary business issues. The idea behind the seminar is to familiarize the students more extensively with the methodology of their chosen subject and also to allow them to interact with examples of the practical problems that always crop up during research work. Our retail students participated in a seminar conducted by Retail Association of India. The students have also attended seminar on retail marketing in India. The students who participated in it were immensely benefitted and this gave them a bent of mind for research based thinking. The Seminar comprised of stimulating discussions on various topics related to the challenging retail sector in India today, such as mass, luxury, food and entertainment retailing. Only knowledge and skills are no guarantee for successful achievement of goals and objectives. Student's development in the desired manner with the requisite values, behavior, attitude, motives etc, is a critical factor. Student's longitudinal profiling is done through continual counseling and the developmental inputs. All students have to participate in our student orientation programme. A trip to Singapore The trip to Singapore was a wonderful trip for all the students of PGDM Batch. It was intellectually stimulating and left behind scintillating memories of the trip. The PGDM batch attended a special lecture at National University of Singapore and visited MDIS. The entire group also visited various exotic locations of Singapore. The trip to Singapore was a strong reinforcement to the global orientation and exposure being provided to the students by the team of committed and dedicated faculty members at Accurate. The students enjoyed the trip overwhelmingly and extracted their best out of the entire trip. The Group was led by the Group Director Ms. Poonam Sharma and the Director-Management Professor (Dr.) J.K. Das. -

Selection Process Step1 Score of CAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA will be taken as the preliminary score for admission.

Education Loan

The Admission office provides information regarding financial advice and support. There are many banks- mainly public sector banks- now offering educational loans to pursue higher education. Banks provide education loan to students pursuing higher education in Institutes approved by AICTE, Ministry of HRD, Government of India. Easy student loans are available from funding organizations to help the students fulfill their career aspirations. The maximum loan possible varies from bank to bank, but in general, the maximum amount is between Rs. 7.5 lakh to Rs. 10 Lakh. The tenure ranges from five to ten years. Repayment usually starts from one year after completing the course or six months after securing a job, whichever is earlier. Usually, there is no security deposit for loans under Rs 4 lakhs. Loans above Rs. 4 lakh and up to Rs. 7.5 lakh require a third party guarantee. Education loan facility will be offered from Bank of Maharashtra. To apply for the loan, the students must fulfill the criteria, terms and conditions of the respective Bank.
