PROJECT PROPOSAL: [ENGLISH WORD’S VOCABULARY] PROPOSAL DATE :

20 - 03 - 2008 PROBLEM STATEMENT :

In this age of mass communication, people often know us only by the words we use – make sure you know the right words! So English Word Vocabulary is very much essential & necessary for us. English offers perhaps the richest vocabulary of all languages, in part because its words are culled from so many languages. It is a shame that we do not tap this rich source more often in our daily conversation to express ourselves more clearly and precisely. Sir I want to develop an English Word’s Vocabulary Project that will be very helpful for user & so much essential in educational sides. I promise that if I get permission, I will complete this project within a short time. I believe that this project will be popular for its excellent performance & it will be very helpful for those users whose are seeking to extend their Vocabulary Knowledge. PROJECT OBJECTIVES :

The 4000 words essential for an educated Vocabulary. There are of course thesauruses but they mainly list common words. Other vocabulary books list difficult, esoteric words that we quickly forget or feel self-conscious using. However, there is a bounty of choice words between the common and the esoteric that often seem be just on the tip of our tongue. Vocabulary 4000 brings these words to the fore. If anyone wants to find any English word’s synonym, this project will help her to find that. PROJECT METHODOLOGY : Whenever possible, one-word definitions are used. Although this makes a definition less precise, it also makes it easier to remember. Many common words appear in the words Database, but with their less common meanings. For example, the common meaning of champion is “winner.” A less common meaning for champion is to support or fight for someone else. (Think of the phrase “to champion a cause.”) This is the meaning that would be used in the list. Here I use Database for storing words and its corresponding Synonyms & JAVA language for logic developing & using searching query in Database & HTML for outlook Interface. When anyone wants to find any words synonyms, she will enter the word and search in the Database. If the word is stored in Database, She can see the corresponding Synonyms of the Selected Word. Database Create: For completing the project, a large Database is badly needed. First I create a Database using Microsoft Office Access 2003. Then I also create a table in it & Start inserting data. So it takes a little time for developing the large database & entering data in it. Java Code:

The logic will be developed within two JAVA file which are labeled are AccessConnection.java & Search.java. In AccessConnection.java file, I create a connection with my Database & a Query is applied for searching word into Database. In Search.java file, the input is stored in a variable & the class is used further in AccessConnection.java file. HTML Code: Some HTML Code also I use in my project. Here I use HTML code for creating a user interface which is easy to understand for user & looking good. I create here applet file, where user can enter their desire word and see the expected result. SUCCESS MEASURES : For using Database, it is so much effective to search any word & get the original output. There is no chance to occur any error. For using JAVA language, it is so much easy to understand to user & it is platform independent. So just take, use & get surprised for its efficiency. It is easy to use & flexible for User. Just Enter & Search. For using it, no need to learn JAVA language or any other programming language. TARGET AUDIENCE : I believe that this project will be popular for its excellent performance & it will be very helpful for those users whose are seeking to extend their Vocabulary Knowledge.
