Sit still? Not this girl!
Mary was always busy with cheerleading, dance, theater, and gymnastics… until she got sick . Her doctors
diagnosed aplastic anemia, and told her parents that in order to survive, Mary would need a marrow or cord blood transplant. This was devastating news to her parents. Her father was dying of terminal cancer at the time, and her mother had three other children to care for in addition to Mary. They found out Asians are under-represented on the registry, and worried about finding a match for their daughter. But Mary’s match was found on the Be The Match RegistrySM. Now she is doing well and has high hopes for her future.
