PROJECT REPORT

PROJECT:- HELP SUNDERBAN Date :- 13th June to 28th June

1.NAME OF THE PROJECT:“Help Sunderban Fatafat” (A project for helping the Ayela affected people of sunderban).

2. Project place & date(duration):The duration of the project is 13th June to 28th June. # 13th to16th – collecting the relief # 17th to 25th – sorting and other activities. # 28th June – distributing the relief among the sunderban people at Bali Dweep, Gosaba.

3. Associates (partners):The “Help Sunderban Fatafat” is an initiative by collaboration between Radio One (94.3 FM) and “WISH” and “Bachbo”. At the time of collection of the relief from the different part of kolkata WISH was present there every day with its full arm.

4. Description:This project was initiated by 94.3FM Radio One. At the very beginning they asked for some hands to make the project successful. Two NOGs came forward and agreed to help Radio One for successful completion of this project. WISH offered their man power for the project but it was clearly mentioned that they will not provide any kind of financial help and in return Radio One will promote WISH on air. The other associates had their own negotiation with Radio One and WISH was not concerned about that, at the same time the others were also not. # collection:The collection of relief from kolkata was started on 13th June. At the time of collection of the relief from the different parts of kolkata WISH was there every day with its full man power. The members of WISH managed the collection from the very beginning to end. The time of collection was around 11am to 6pm. But for most of the days it went up to 9pm or 10pm. Unfortunately these phase of the project missed the committed effort of other associates. So it was really very tough to manage the project at that time and this hard work was completely taken up on the shoulders of WISH to move towards the destiny. The collection continued for four days. It should be mentioned that the collection procedure was longest on 14th June. That day it started around 12:30pm and continued till 11:30pm.

The members of WISH worked round the clock ignoring the scorching heat and in the heavy rain of those days. We collected 600 litres of packed water, good quantity of medicine for water bourne diseases, huge quantity of clothes, and sufficient quantity of dry food specially puffed rice, biscuits etc. It is really great to declare that our previous associate Russa Pallymangal Samity helped us with a good quantity of clothes, food, baby food, and medicines. We are really thankful to Russa Pallymangal Samity for their open hearted help. Members worked at this part of project:1. Atri Saha 2. Sudipta Basu 3. Kaushik Kundu 4. Palash Paul. 5. Saumyadeb Banerjee 6. Pradip Shaw 7. Pravat Chacraborty 8. Ranjit Saha. 9. Sayantee Majumdar 10. Mir Asif Ikbal # Sorting:As discussed previously with Radio One and Bachbo, the sorting procedure would be performed together with equal effort by WISH and them. But unfortunately again there was no other hand beside us in this work for sorting the huge quantity of relief. The members of WISH again managed the full sorting procedure proving their optimum level of efficiency. The sorting was finished on time and there was no deliquesce. Members worked at this part of project:1. Shreya Sarkar 2. Sudipta Basu 3. Kaushik Kundu 4. Palash Paul. 5. Saumyadeb Banerjee 6. Pradip Shaw 7. Sayantee Majumdar 8. Madhuri basu 9. Laila Banerjee. 10. Mir Asif Ikbal We like to thank Jayeeta Banerjee for spreading her hand at the please of project. # Distribution The toughest part of the project was the distribution. The distribution spot was Bali Dweep of Gosaba Block in Sunderban. The relief was distributed at the spot on 28th

of June. This phase was managed only by the members of WISH. Other associates were officially put down by Radio One after a decision of their esteemed higher authority due to their irresponsibility and miscommittment from the very first day of the project. From then the responsibility was taken over by WISH and was aimed to complete the project successfully. In this respect it should be mentioned that although WISH did not make any financial commitments at first, but lastly the whole cost of the project, from collection to distribution was shouldered by WISH alone. After getting final acknowledgement from Radio One it was decided by WISH authority that they will finish this project by any means. The date of distribution was decided as 28th June. The members of WISH got only two days in hand to manage the whole situation. Because of the hard contribution and effort everything was managed on time without any deliquesce. It was our lifetime experience. The journey was long enough. The WISH members have to travel 150 km by road and almost 90 km by river. The distribution was started around 12:30pm and continued until the daylight was there. The quantity of the relief was huge and it was impossible to distribute those in one day. So the distribution was continued up to 30th. One more thing should be mentioned that we send almost 300 litres of water at the nearest health canters as the requirement of fresh water was unlimited there. Members worked at this part of project:1. Sudipta Basu 2. Kaushik Kundu 3. Palash Paul. 4. Saumyadeb Banerjee 5. Pradip Shaw 6. Pravat Chacraborty 7. Somnath Naha Roy 8. Sudipto Chatterjee 9. Mir Asif Ekbal The effort projected by WISH was highly appreciated by Radio One after finishing the project.
