Joseph Palermo, Executive Director, Office of Pastoral Services NOTICE OF DEATH Mrs. Amelia Lungay, mother of Rev. Roel Lungay, pastor of St. Genevieve Parish in Slidell, died February 21, 2006 in the Philippines. Father Lungay has gone to the Philippines for his Mother’s funeral. Please remember Mrs. Lungay, Father Lungay, their family and those who mourn her death. May she rest in peace.
MINISTRY TO RETIRED PRIESTS Fr. Ignatius Roppolo serves as coordinator of ministry to retired priests. If you need any information or have questions about the retirement program of the Archdiocese, please contact him at 504-891-8921, 504-453-1486 (cell) or e-mail: [email protected].
HELP FOR HURTING MARRIAGES: RETROUVAILLE/REDISCOVERY WEEKEND, MARCH 24-26 Many marriages are experiences unprecedented stress in light of Hurricane Katrina. Retrouvaille/Rediscovery, sponsored by the Archdiocese of New Orleans, is a program for couples who want to save their marriage and continue their journey together. The next scheduled Retrouvaille weekend is March 24 26, 2006 at the Tracey Retreat Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. For information and/or registration, call the Family Life Apostolate, 504-467 3105 ext. 164. Please promote this opportunity in your parish and help save a marriage!

RESTORATION OF FACILITIES Catholic Mutual is continually receiving checks for hurricane damage repair work. As checks come in, Catholic Mutual mails copies of the checks to the pastor or administrator. These checks are being deposited in the respective parishes’ archdiocesan account. Provisions have been made to allow advances to parishes in anticipation of receipt of the Catholic Mutual checks. If your parish sustained flood or wind damage it is not necessary to delay repair work because insurance proceeds have not been received from Catholic Mutual. When in doubt as to whether a loss is fully covered by Catholic Mutual, send in the proposals for review prior to starting work.
