Categories Of Reports. Informational Reports Analytical Reports Proposals

Informational Report It offers data, facts, feedback and other types of

information, without analysis or recommendations. Informational reports are mainly used to : Monitor and control operations. Implement policies and procedures. Demonstrate compliance. Document progress.

Analytical Reports It offers both information and analysis, and they

can also include recommendations. Analytical reports are mainly used to : Assess opportunities Solve problems. Support decisions.

Proposals Proposals offer structured persuasion for internal

and external audience. Every proposal competes for something: Money Time Attention, etc

Three step writing process of reports PLAN  Analyze the situation.  Gather information.  Select the right medium.  Organize the information.
