Borobudur is one of the 7 wonders in the ancient world. It is located in Magelang regency, Central Java and between two twin volcanoes, Sindoro-Sumbing and Merbabu-Merapi, and two rivers, the Progo and the Elo.  About 41 kilometers northward from Yogjakarta.

Borobudur Tample is consist of three terraces

Kamadhatu is represented by the base Rupadhatu by the five square platforms (the body) Arupadhatu by the three circular platforms and the large topmost stupa

Borobudur containts approximately 2.670 reliefs and 504 Buddha statues. They are distributed at the hidden foot (Kamadhatu), the five square platforms (Rupadhatu), and the topmost stupa

The relief of of the wall shows the birth of the Buddha as Prince Sidharta Gautama, son of King Suddhodana and Queen Maya of Kapilavastu

Borobudur is once again used as a place of worship and pilgrimage. Once a year, during the full moon in May or June, Buddhists in Indonesia observe Vesak ( Indonesia : Waisak ) day commemorating the birth, the death, and the time when Sidharta Gautama attained the highest wisdom to become the Buddh a Shakyamuni. Waisak is an official national holiday in Indonesia and the ceremony is centered at the three Buddhist temples by walking from Mendut to Pawon and ending at Borobudur tample.

Moving Around You'll explore this site on foot. Climb this magnificent temple and marvel at various carvings on the stone around you. Climb the temple to reach the top, where you can see an vacant space signifying emptiness as completion. There's a superstition saying that if you climb this temple with one wish deep in mind, try touching Buddha's figure inside the stupa, which is bell-like in structure.
