Gillibrand Legislation Could Help Nearly 800,000 New York Veterans Access Benefits In Every Corner of the State, Veterans Are Not Receiving the Health Care They Need, Deserve New York is home to more than one million men and women who served their country in the Armed Forces. Their service and sacrifice, and that of their families, have earned them a debt that the U.S. must honor. But too many of New York’s veterans are not getting the quality health care they need and deserve. In fact, across New York, 779,742 veterans are not receiving their health care benefits from the VA and could be affected by U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s PRO-VETS legislation.
