PLEASE READ TO STUDENTS during Homeroom time

• Today is European Day of Languages. On this day every year, people all over Europe come together to celebrate language and cultural diversity throughout the world. • Many Europeans think most people speak only one language, but in actual fact at least half of the world’s population are bilingual or plurilingual, i.e. they speak two or more languages. •

At Thuringia International School, people can speak languages that you might not even know about.

Some members of staff will speak to you in a foreign language today, but can you tell which language?

•

If you can identify 13 different languages spoken today by members of staff, write them on this sheet & hand in to the office. The first 3 pupils to hand in completed, correct sheets today will win a prize. There will also be prizes for students taking part in the competition. (PLEASE DISTRIBUTE SHEETS)

There will also be a prize for the member of staff who makes the biggest effort in speaking a different language, so we need your vote.
