Heavy Duty Composite Stop Logs Dimensionally Stable Low Leakage Low Maintenance Corrosion Resistant Built to Size Easy to Install

Plasti-Fab, Inc.® Heavy Duty Stop Logs feature a unique seamless construction that fully surrounds an internal structural skeleton. Our Heavy Duty Composite Stop Logs have been used successfully by engineers in a wide range of applications for over 25 years. Stop Logs are in service throughout the United States, and globally, in water and wastewater treatment plants; fish hatcheries; sludge drying beds; composting facilities; lagoon control; flood control, and diversion.

Design Details

Specifically designed neoprene seals are affixed to the Stop Logs to assure minimal water seepage.

Guide Frames

Plasti-Fab® Stop Logs are constructed of a copolymer composite totally encapsulating an internal reinforcing structure. Typical Stop Log thickness is 21/2’’ to 61/2’’. The structure has no seams or joints thus assuring fluid-tight integrity. They are highly corrosion resistant, weather resistant, and require little or no maintenance. The exterior surfaces are smooth and flat.

Our Stop Log sizes range from 1 foot wide to applications over 20 feet wide. The most common sizes are 3 ft. to 8 ft. Plasti-Fab has fabricated a wide range of Stop Log sizes.

Plasti-Fab® heavy duty stainless steel guide frames are designed for embedment in concrete, surface mounting, or mounting on channel walls.

Low Theft Concern with Fiberglass Stop Logs

as opposed to Aluminum and Stainless. This is especially important considering Stop Logs are often stored in racks when not in use.

Lifting Equipment

Smaller Stop Logs can be raised manually using lifting poles. (Two people can unseat a 3’ to 4’ Stop Log). Larger Stop Logs will require a lifting beam. The beam is released from the Stop Logs by a simple tug on a rope tag line.

Storage Racks Guide frames have a unique neoprene seal with a double edged design that gives a point-load seal against the face of the stop log. Stop logs usually have Neoprene seals the length of the logs. The design provides very tight shut off for seating or unseating heads. The leakage rate generally is less than 0.2 GPM/ft. of wetted perimeter.

Steel Stop Log racks (hot dipped galvanized after fabrication) are supplied to provide a neat storage facility where logs can be easily hosed down, and stored in a way that will not damage the Neoprene seals. Stop Log Racks made from custom materials are also available. Stop Log Racks may be designed to be floor mounted, or wall mounted.
