PHOTOSYNTHESIS

PHOTOSYNTHESIS IS THE PROCESS BY WHICH GREEN PLANTS AND OTHERS ORGANISM USE THE ENERGY OF LIGHT TO CONVERT CO2 ND WATER INTO THE SIMPLE SUGAR GLUCOSE IN SO DOING PHOTOSYNTHESIS PROVIDES THE BASIC ENERGY SOURCE OF VIRTUALLY ALL ORGANISMZ AN EXREMELLY IMPORTANT BY PRODUCT OF PHOTOSYNTHESIS IS OXYGEN, ON WHICH MOST ORGANISM DEPENDS. WHERE PHOTOSYNTHESIS OCCCUR:- PLANT PHOTOSYNTHESIS OCCUR IN LEAVES AND GREEN STEMS WITHIN SPECIALISED CELL STRUCTURE CALLED CHOROPLAST. ONE PLAN LEAVES COMPOSED OF 1000 OF CELLS AND EACH CELL CONTAIN 40 TO 50 CLOROPLAST. THE CLOROPLAST AND OVAL SHAPED STRUCTURED DIVIDED BY MEMBRANES INTO NUMEROUS DISK SHAPED COMPARTMENT CALLED THYLOKOIDS. THE STACK OF THYLOKOIDS IS CALLED A GRANIUM [PLURAL GRANA] THE GRANA SUSPENDED IN A FLUID CALLED STROMA. HOW PHOTOSYNTHESIS WORKS:- PHOTOSYNTHESIS IS VERY COMPLEX PROCESS, BIOLOGIST DIVIDED INTO TWO STAGES. IN THE FIRST STAGE THE LIGHT DEPENDED REACTION THE CHLOROPLAST TRAP LIGHT ENERGY AND CONVERT INTO CHEMICAL ENERGY CONTAIN IN THE SECOND STAGE CALLED THE LIGHT INDEPENDENT REACTION THAT PROVIDE HYDROGEN ATOMS THAT HELP TO FORM GLUCOUSE AND ATP PROVIDES THE ENERGY FOR THIS AND OTHERS REACTION USED TO SYNTHESIZE GLUCOSE.
