PHOTOSYNTHESISGHH Photosynthesis is the single most important chemical process on earth. It is the process by which plant uses solar energy to manufacture food. The terms means “Putting together with light” and the process of photosynthesis use solar energy to form simple sugar from water and carbon dioxide gas. These are the raw material for photosynthesis. 6Co2 + 12H2O

SUNLIGHT

C6H12O6 + 6H2O +6O2

Later these sugars (C6H12O6) are converted into starch, protein or fat and we eat them as fruits and vegetables. Thus photosynthesis change light energy into food (chemical) energy. Chlorophyll the green pigment present in leave of plants. Leaves are the photosynthesis organs in plants. Chloroplasts are more localized in the leaves. These are photosynthetic organelles of the cell.

FACTORS AFFECTING PHOTOSYNTHESIS: Two types of factors influence the process of photosynthesis. (A) INTERNAL FACTORS, (B) EXTERNAL FACTORS.

Factors Affecting Photosynthesis

Internal Factors -Chlorophyll Contents, -Accumulation of Products, -Structure of Leaves.

External Factors Carbon Dioxide Light Water Temperature Oxygen.
