Philadelphia Cares Day



Dear Students and Parents, We are excited to invite you to join us for seventh annual Philadelphia Cares Day on Saturday, October 18, 2008. We will be a part of 12,000 volunteers that will mobilize to help make Philadelphia Schools safer and cleaner. When?

iSaturday, October 18, 2008 iMeet at VFMS at 8:00 am to board a school district bus. iParent pick up at 2:00 pm at VFMS

Where?

iWe will begin our day at the Mann Music Center for opening ceremonies with Mayor Street. iWe will then be bussed to our assigned school to work from 10am-1:00pm. All VFMS students and chaperones will be assigned to the same site. We will then return to the Mann for lunch and re-board the school district bus to come home.

What?

iWe may be doing a variety of activities such as painting, cleaning, or planting, to help improve the schools. iWe will have a student/chaperone ratio of 10 to 1. iPlease send a packed lunch.

Please fill out the attached permission form for your child and return to the Guidance Office.
