Seth Johnson In Persepolis, Marjane changes and matures due to the pending Islamic revolution that she feared. She matured by experiencing the Islamic changes such as: having to wear the veil, and the education system telling her false information and such. In the book it shows the struggle of the Islamic invasion on page 5 it says “everywhere in the streets there were demonstrations for and against the veil.” This shows her maturing and being able to understand why people do these things. Through the forcing of marjane and her family to do these mundane things because of the Islamic invasion. She understands what needs to be done in hard situations. She has also developed anxiety because of the war. It makes her angry at small things, and lashed out on her father.
