II. INTRODUCTION
This manual is a sample of “Delivery Room” manual. We have acquired our data primarily from Bicol Medical Center, and some were carefully formulated by the talented members of the group. It comprises the hospital’s, nursing service’, and clinical area’s philosophy, vision-mission and objectives as a basis of its service to the people. We have also incorporated here strategies and operational plan so that our area will have a guide to what specific actions to take, and so that as a team we will have a basis for our evaluation whether our area is developing according to our plan. Also, we included here the “Budgeting” of our area this is to balance our income and expense, whether we are gaining or losing so that we may foresee if we may be able to buy additional facilities, equipment and supplies for the improvement of delivery of care for mothers and infants, respectively. And of course we have here the Organizational structures/chart to serve the purpose of having the unity of command within the area. So that one knows to whom or for whom he/she is responsible to/for. And we cannot discount the fact that in any area within the hospital there are always “Policies and Procedures” so that there will be guidelines that the staff or employees or workers should follow, for the purpose of safeguarding the health of every individual in the institution. And lastly, we have the “Staffing” in this manual so that the employees or staff would perform well in an optimum level and for the reason that there would be no understaffing in the area.
