REINFORCEMENT “IF REPLACE REINFORCEMENT IN STRUCTURE THEN WHAT SHOULD BE NEXT”

CONTENT • WHAT IS REINFORCEMENT. • BASIC INTRO OF STEEL. • DIFFERENT TYPES OF MATERIALS REPLACE WITH STEEL,ITS PROPERTIES,RATES AND WHERE IT CAN BE USE. https://www.riverpoolsandspas.com/cost

Definition of reinforcement 1: the action of strengthening or encouraging something : the state of being reinforced. Mainly reinforcement use Steel is an alloy of ferrous metal with 0.25 to 1.5 per cent of carbon. Higher the carbon content, harder is the steel. Steel bars of circular cross sections are mainly used as reinforcement to strengthen concrete structures. There are three types of reinforcing steel: 1. Mild steel 2. High Yield Strength Deformed bars (HYSD)/TOR steel and 3. High tensile steel.

BAMBOO • Through research it has been found that some species of bamboo have ultimate tensile strength same as that of mild steel at yield point. • Bamboo is a versatile material because of its high strength-to-weight ratio, easy workability and availability. • It can be used as Bamboo Trusses, Bamboo Roofs Skeleton, Bamboo walling/ceiling, Bamboo Doors and Windows, Bamboo Flooring, Reed Boards, Scaffolding. • Bamboo needs to be chemically treated due to their low natural durability.

Strength Properties of Bamboo It has also been found that bamboo acts very well in buckling but due to low stresses than compared to steel and due to it not being straight it may not be very good.

Some specific properties of Bamboo are as given below: • • • • • •

Specific gravity - 0.575 to 0.655 Average weight - 0.625kg/m Modulus of rupture - 610 to 1600kg/cm2 Modulus of Elasticity - 1.5 to 2.0 x105kg/cm2 Ultimate compressive stress- 794 to 864kg/cm2 Safe working stress in compression - 105kg/cm2 https://www.riverpoolsandspas.com/cost

Selection And Preparation Of Bamboo • • • •

Use only bamboo showing a pronounced brown colour. Select the longest large diameter culms available. Do not use whole culms of green, unseasoned bamboo. Avoid bamboo cut in spring or early summer. These culms are generally weaker due to increased fibre moisture content

Preparation

• Sizing • Seasoning • Waterproof Coatings RATES • 89 rupees/piece.(normal jungle bamboo) available and 3 to 5 ft height. • Used in scaff-foling and hide works. • Bamboo floor cost 350 rupees/sq.ft • Exterior and finish bamboo

IN SLABS

PLASTIC SLAB Properties of Plastic • Plastics have numerous properties that make them superior to other materials in many applications. • resistance to corrosion and chemicals, low electrical and thermal conductivity, high strength-to-weight ratio, colors available in a wide variety and transparent, resistance to shock, good durability, low cost, are easy to manufacture, resistant to water and have low toxicity.

FIBER GLASS CHEMICAL RESISTANCE DIMENSIONAL STABILITY GOOD THERMAL PROPERTIES HIGH TENSILE STRENGTH- Fiberglass yarn has a high strength-to-weight ratio. Fiberglass yarn is twice as strong as steel wire. LOW MOISTURE ABSORPTION-Fiberglass yarn has extremely low moisture absorption. COST-EFFECTIVE-Fiberglass fabrics offer cost advantages compared to other synthetic and natural fiber fabrics. RATES 2,8000 FOR 1000 X 4 SQ.FT SLABS
