CUPERTINO
–
Meg Whitman, Republican candidate for Governor, today announced 11 regional chairs and 75 county chairs and co-chairs from around the state. The diverse group, representing counties throughout California, will help Whitman encourage people to join her in making the changes California needs. Whitman’s county chairs include teachers, small business owners and community leaders. They will help her develop strategies to mobilize supporters and get out the vote. Whitman named her team following the California Republican Party’s fall convention in Indian Wells, where hundreds rallied around her promise to create jobs, cut government spending and improve the state’s K-12 education system. “It’s clear enthusiasm is growing, and I am honored to have the support of these grassroots leaders from across the state,” Whitman said. “Grassroots activities are critical to winning this election and reinvigorating the Republican Party. This group will help create momentum for our campaign and working together, I’m confident we can rebuild California.” “Meg Whitman is the only gubernatorial candidate who has what it takes to rescue California,” said Sara Catalan, the Orange Regional chair. “She is a proven leader with strong values and a sensible plan to restore California’s economy and improve our state government.” County Chairs (By Region) North • North Region Co-Chairs – Bill Brunetti / Cindi Sherrod • Sacramento County Co-Chairs – Roberta MacGlashan / Tom Scott • El Dorado County Chair – Myrlys Stockdale • Shasta County Chair – Brenda Haynes • Butte County Chair - Larry Wahl
