My favorite place to holiday in my country is Merida which is located in the north part of the Yucatan Peninsula and is surrounded by the Caribbean Sea, the tropical weather, the mangroves and Cetones that make up the ecosystem of the Yucatecan Peninsula makes it a true paradise in middle of the jungle. Merida attracts thousands of national and foreign tourists because of its great location. Tourist can do many different activities on the surroundings of the city, Progreso beach is close enough to Merida, 40 minutes approximately, there people can practice different activities as snorkeling, diving, skydiving or sailing in kayaks. The most attractive activity is visiting Cenotes in middle of the jungle, that amazing natural ecosystems are freshwater ponds provide by underground rivers where tourists can enjoy the landscape and even swim. Tourist can admire Chichen Itza, that is a Maya archeological area, the main atractions is the ¨the castle¨ a huge pyramid of beautiful architecture. If they are lucky, tourists can witness the descent of Quetzalcoatl.
