WADA Play True Partnership Logo Logo Use & Guidelines

WADA Play True Partnership Logo Directives The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is the international independent organization created in 1999 to promote, coordinate, and monitor the fight against doping in sport in all its forms. In response to the growing demand from its stakeholders for partnership initiatives in the fight against doping in sport, WADA has developed the Outreach and Education Partnership Program and guidelines, as well as the WADA Play True Partnership Logo and directives. These Guidelines and Directives provide guidance to WADA and its stakeholders in collaborative anti-doping projects, and will serve to ensure that all WADA education and outreach partnership activities: 1. Ultimately promote clean sport. 2. Are as accurate and reliable as possible. 3. Are independent and free of commercial bias. By assisting in the efforts of partners and stakeholders in the fight against doping in sport, WADA can distribute the anti-doping message on a broader scale to its target audiences: athletes and their entourage, anti-doping organizations, and governments. In turn, partners in the fight against doping can raise the profile of their anti-doping initiatives by highlighting WADA's participation. The enclosed Play True Partnership Logo Directives help to ensure that WADA is correctly represented on all print, web-based, and other visual communication tools related to these programs.

The WADA Partnership Logo Basic Presentation The WADA Partnership logo has two distinct basic forms:

Each logo makes use of the distinctive WADA logomark and tagline (play true). Use of the full WADA partnership logo (left) or the simplified version (right) will be subject to the discretion of the WADA Communications team, and will depend on a number of factors related to the stakeholder and the particular event or initiative being co-branded. Color In its basic form the WADA Partnership logo is available from the agency in CMYK format. The distinctive WADA green must ALWAYS be depicted reflecting the following CMYK component factors, or else respecting the PANTONE designation specified should you be converting the logo for two- or three-colour applications: C: M: Y: K:

60 0 80 0

PANTONE 360C

The preferred depiction of the WADA Partnership Logo is for one of these colour versions to be presented on an open white background. For applications requiring grayscale or other versions please refer to the usage, sizing, and placement guidelines on the following pages.

The WADA Partnership Logo Color: Grayscale versions There are two separate grayscale versions for use on white or black backgrounds:

The grayscale-on-white version depicts ‘play true’ in 50% black. On the grayscale-on-black version the gray elements are set to 30% black to ensure legibility.

<50% Black

Use the white-only logo on backgrounds that are 50% black and darker. On backgrounds less than 50% black use the black-only version.

The WADA Partnership Logo Color: Mixed-b background Applications In general, the use of the WADA Partnership logo over a mixed background should be avoided wherever possible. It is the responsibility of the designer to produce original layouts that provide an open white, black, or monotone color background for logo placement and presentation purposes. The following examples are presented as colour and tonality guidelines for how and when the various WADA Partnership Logos should be employed when used over a photographic, illustrative or otherwise mixed background. Mixed Colour Applications

A safe-zone of black or white is the preferred usage of the Partnership logo on a mixed or photographic background. In the event that the artist chooses an opacity field in Photoshop instead (last example), it must be set to at least 70% opacity. This provides a background dark and monotone enough to allow the cmyk version to be used.

Mixed Grayscale Applications

In the grayscale version the opacity of the white area (whether it is white or black is left to the designer’s discretion) is again set to 70%, but because this results in a light gray background, the black only version of the WADA grayscale logo is employed as per the guidelines on page 4.

The WADA Partnership Logo Minimum Size and Protective Zone Each version of the WADA Partnership Logo has been designed in letterhead size and ‘smallest size’ versions. The smallest size version has been designed with consideration to typeface legibility and minimum safelyprintable stroke weights. The WADA Partnership Logo may never be reproduced smaller than the minimum size version provided. General Sizing Guidelines The letterhead version of each logo may be scaled-up as large as the designer wishes. Where it needs to be scaled down the following guidelines must be observed, with the minimum size never falling below the established ‘smallest size’ version provided. In general, the letterhead logo versions should be re-ssized in Illustrator or an equivalent software application, and not in your page layout software.

0.45” 12mm

The stroke weight of the logo/partnership line separator must never fall below .5pt on a white background, nor below .65pt when it is reversed out of black (right). 0.7” 18mm Similarly, the stroke weight around the logo square must never fall below .65pt when it appears on a black background.

Protective Zone The WADA Partnership Logo should always be spaced a minimum distance away from other logos or text. This distance should be equal to the size of the ‘W’ on the simplified logo version.

Please have someone from your organization discuss the position and sizing of the WADA Partnership Logo on your materials before they start being designed. Relative sizing will be dependant on a variety of factors and the appropriate final size/location must be determined in conjunction with WADA. In this manner you will save time and money on revisions with your graphic designer, and avoid uneccessary back-and-forths between your production department and the WADA Communications team. WADA must give final approval of materials featuring the WADA Play True Partnership Logo prior to production. 9
