same since, other have longer roots. Lastly, other seeds have color violet shoots and seed, while other has a color green or mixed color.
INTRODUCTION Metabolism is known as the biochemical reactions that occur in a single cell or organism. All organisms need energy for them to survive thus, breaking down of foods give the energy that they need. It converts the fuel in the food into the energy needed to power everything an organism do, from moving to growing [1]. The process between a human and plant metabolism is somewhat different in many aspects. The focus of this is the plant metabolism. Plant metabolism refers to complex physical and chemical events of photosynthesis, respiration, synthesis and degradation of organic compounds that allows the plant to live The objectives of this experiment are to explain the purpose and relationship of photosynthesis and respiration, to describe and understand the acquisition and utilization of carbon in plat, and to explain the gain and loss of mass of plants RESULTS AND DISCUSSION The mongo seeds are stored in a wet with light condition, and the table below shows the observable results. Table 1. Observable Results in Wet, Light Condition Initial Mass Final Mass Height (ave) No. Leaves % Biomass
Trial 1 0.3461 g 1.1678 g 1.2 cm 2 small green leaves 237.4 %
Trial 2 0.4044 g 1.4219 g 1.0 cm 4 green leaves 251.6%
Each mongo seeds do not have the same results, because other seeds grew longer than the others, also other seeds have leaves, but others don’t have. Their roots were also not the
There are different stages in life cycle of a bean plant. First is the germination stage, where the seed begins to sprout because water dissolved, or cracks open the hard casing around the seed. Next, the leaf growth where leaves are staring to grow, inside the leaves are special cells called chlorophyll which transforms sunlight into usable energy. Lastly, flowering cycle where the reproductive portion of the plant develops. The different stages where seen in different seeds placed in a petri dish. The differences in stages or results of the mongo seeds is because of the differences in capacity of each seeds to metabolize.
