Experiment 2: Methodology A.

Absorption of Visible Light

Colored solution was prepared by diluting drop of food color in 100 mL of water

B.

The cuvette with 3-4 mL of water and a drop colored samples were placed inside the spectrophotometer

Absorption of ultraviolet Light

3-4 mL of water in a quartz cuvette was placed in the spectrometer

0.1% of the different solutions (glucose, ribose, phosphoric acid, adenosine, cytosine, gly, arg, tyr, phe and BSA) were scanned from 200-300 nm

\ C.

The absorbances of water and colored samples were determined from 300 to 1000 nm

Relationship of Absorption and Concentration

Different solutions of copper sulfate was diluted with distilled water in different concentration

Read absorbance of each concentration and graph concentration against absorbance.

Graph wavelength versus absorbance of the solution

Graph wavelength versus absorbance of the solution
