On September 1st Close to My Heart released the latest Idea Book. I hope you all enjoy the layout of the Idea Book as much as I have. The pictures of the stamps sets are now bigger, each Tips & Technique shown has its own page. I think the bigger photos makes it a lot easier to follow.
ries really help a lot. As with every new Idea Book there are a lot of new stamp sets. This issue has four new paper packets. In the past CTMH has released five new paper designs with each Idea Book.
The color palette which includes inks, markers, card stock & re-inkers has been moved to the back of the book, along with the Hostess Rewards & New Consultant information. I also like how they organized the Accessories. I think you will find them easier to review. The catego-

You will have to wait to see the 5th paper packet on our brand new on-line scrapbooking program called Studio J. I have never seen a program like this. Your finished product looks like a hand made page. You will have the choice of embellishments that will match the color of the paper & Inks. And one thing I was very impressed with is the fact that it will be printed on card stock so it will even feel like a hand made scrapbook. Unfortunately we are going to have to wait until the new year. Keep reading I have more new product information in this newsletter.

If your page needs a rugged, natural look make your paper look like leather. Step 1: Spray your paper with water using a spray bottle. Get it Quite Wet Step 2: Scrunch your wet paper into a small ball. (some tearing may occur which will add to the rustic look of the paper.)
Step 3: Carefully smooth out the paper Step 4: Iron the paper flat using medium heat and no steam. Step 5: When completely dry, use a round sponge and ink to darken the paper. Use the same color ink as the paper. Use this effect to create a faux belt by using the metal
rim of a round or square tag as the buckle . Fold a strip of the Faux Leather paper inside the metal rim and trim to a point. Then tack the paper down with an eyelet . Do this on both sides of the metal rim. Your Turn! Send me a picture of how you used this technique.

you receive the reward your name will also go to the bottom of the list Remember if you can not attend the workshop the guide has enough information that you can still complete the workshop at home. *Scrapbook Layouts, Cards or Both You Decide. At the workshop we will complete 6 cards & one double page layout. You can choose what part of the workshop you would like to participate in.
We will start our workshop creating the 6 cards. If you only like to create cards you can stay and work on additional cards. When we have completed the 6 cards we will create the featured scrapbook layout. If you like to create only scrapbook layouts you can work on one of the additional layouts while we are creating the cards. And of cours you can always create both the cards & the layout during the workshop. This is a very flexible workshop!

New Product Highlight— Top Coats™ Framed-In Overlays (z1211) You can add this beautiful frame to any layout super easy with CTMH’s new Top Coats™. The 4”x6” (photo size) transparencies add just the right look to draw attention to your photos. Top Coats™ come 12 to a package, 6 White Daisy & 6 Colonial White for only $4.95. There are a few recommended ways to attach Top Coats™ to your layout. Per-
sonally I think the best way is with either brads or eyelets. You can also use Liquid Glass but I hear you can still see it a little through the frames. Another great use for these frames is to outline your journaling box or an accent item that may include stamped images. Tip: To remove the protective film you can scratch the edge with your finger nail, or use the new Rub & Remover
Eraser (Z1207 $2.95). Once you lift a little you will be able to pull it right off. Have fun with this great new “did you notice how product. I would love to hear how you used them! your eye is drawn to the people in the frame. Top Coats™ does not take away

CTMH has the perfect place to store your pages until you have the time to finish them. The Work-in-Progress Album ($15.95) is a specially sized vinyl 3-ring binder that will temporarily hold your 12”x12” scrapbook pages.
The binder come in three colors:

Black (Z1254) Chocolate (Z1255) White Daisy (Z1253)
Now if CTMH only sold time so we can get the pages finished before the binder gets too full. That would be worth any price.

snowflakes to name a few of the shapes available. These felt die cuts come in Chocolate, Olive & Twilight. Take a look at the picture below, I am sure you will agree they are perfect.

New Soft Set Eyelet Tool I love my Crop-A-Dial but I am getting this new tool. Sometimes I want the back of the eyelet to look as good as the front. I just can not get that from the Crop-A-Dial. And the noise from my hammer eyelet setter makes using it at night a no no, unless I want to wake the kids. What makes this tool different from other eyelet
setters? All you have to do is apply a light downward pressure. The Soft Set Eyelet Tool (Z1208 $14.95) must be used with Soft Set Eyelets ($3.95 for 60). The combination of the tool & the eyelets create a flower effect on the back side of the eyelet. Just think now you can even use your eyelets backwards.
Wow So Many New Items I have already highlighted many new items in the new Autumn/Winter Idea Book. Can you believe there are more? I wonder if you can find 10 more. The first person who emails me with 10 additional new items found in the new Au-
tumn/Winter Idea Book will receive their choice of new stamps from my prize vault.

My Layout Won I was encouraged a while back to enter my layouts into the NY State Fair. Well I did and I won a Honorable Mention.
A lot of talented women participated in this contest.
No it was not first place but I tell you what, when I saw some of the layouts entered I did not think I had a chance.
Next year I would love it if some of my customers would also enter.
Stop by the Arts & Home Center Building while at the fair and check it out.
If you do not already have a new Autumn/ Winter Idea Book attend one of my workshops and you will get one FREE. Or if you can not wait visit my website, at

Layout Template/Challenge This months template comes from a web site at www.pagemaps.com. Here is your challenge for this months layout. When you are done send me a photo or bring it to a workshop.
1. Create a pocket or file folder with one photo on the cover and lots of ribbon, fibers or flowers, and attach the pocket to the base. 2. Add ribbon or fiber to the base in at least three places.
3. Mat or outline photographs after cropping them to at least two different sizes. 4. Add additional embellishments to one photograph to make it the focal point of the layout. 5. Journal inside your file folder or pocket, preferably in your own handwriting, but not necessarily so. 6. Create a title using at least three different kinds of paper and a special technique.
When you think outside the box you will be amazed at what you will create!
