27. Men’s and Women’s Slippers

This pattern is an old pattern and it is now copyright free and in the public domain in 2 different sizes. The yarn for this old pattern is not available anymore, so I redesigned this step-bystep Slipper Pattern in a light gray color, in 3 different sizes, with Red Heart yarn “Supersaver”, worsted weight, 4 ply yarn , and crochet hook H – 8 (5 mm). Crochet this Slipper just with one color, 2 or more colors, dress it up with Fun Fur Yarn, add a cord or ribbon!

Chain Stitch (ch): 1. YO and pull to form a new loop begin careful not to tighten previous one. 2. Repeat for as many ch's as needed.

Slip Stitch

(sl):

Insert hook into your work and

your work, yarn over and draw the yarn both the loop on the hook at once.

Single Crochet (sc):

1. Insert hook into your work (2nd ch from hook on starting ch), yarn over and pull your work only, 2. yarn over again and draw yarn both loops on hook.

Single Crochet Decrease (sc dec): Insert hook in next st, yo, pull up loop. Insert hook in next st, yo, pull up loop, yo and pull through all 3 loops on hook.

Half Double Crochet (hdc):

1. YO and insert hook into work (3rd ch from hook on starting ch), 2. YO and pull thru your work only, 3. YO again and pull thru all 3 loops on hook.

Half Double Crochet Decrease (hdc dec): YO, insert hook into next st, yo, pull up loop, yo, insert hook into next st, yo and pull through all 5 loops on hook

Upper Section: Row 1: With right side of sole toward attach yarn in any stitch on side, working to the toe, 1 sc in each st, do not join this or following rounds, just working around in circles! Place a marker at beginning of round.

Row 2 and 3: Working 1 sc in each sc.

Row 4: 1 sc in each sc to within 5 sts from center of toe, *decrease in next 2 sts (to decrease, insert hook in next st, pull loop through, insert hook in next st, pull loop through, yarn over and work off all loops at one time), 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, repeat from* repeat from *to* 2 more times, 1 sc in each remaining sc decreasing 3 sts evenly spaced around heel.

Row 5: Working in s c decrease 3 sts evenly spaced around toe and 2 sts evenly spaced around heel.

Row 6: 1 sc in each s c decreasing 3 sts evenly spaced around toe and decreasing 1 st on each side of slipper.

Row 7: 1 sc in each s c decreasing 3 sts evenly spaced around toe and having 2 sts between each decrease.

Row 8: Decrease 5 sts evenly spaced around toe and having 2 sts between each decrease.

Row 9 and 10: 1 s c in each s c decreasing 4 sts evenly spaced around toe in each round, sl st in next 4 sts to even last round, cut yarn.

Finishing: If you want you can work another sole in same manner and sew the 2 soles together inserting an inner sole if desired. Lace elastic through last round of sts on inside at top of upper section.
