Basic Concept Pakistan Institute of Integrated Microfinance

The globalization demands society, economy, civilization and development as one unit and not as divided in compartments to move ahead. The attitude of dealing things in cubicles can not travel parallel with the philosophy of globalization. Microfinance started with this very approach but unluckily methodologies, recourses, policies, systems, procedures, and the tend to grasp a wide spread made it scattered. The race of achieving high targets detracted most of the institutions working for microfinance and the actual belief of microfinance left behind. Especially the dream of changing the lives of poor became feeble because of not fulfilling the aim of social performance. No doubt the microfinance is a tool which can change not only the lives of poor but also can bring a social revolution in poor countries towards a greater productivity. Social performance based Microfinance is not a money making industry. It has belief on socioproductive profitability which comes into result as a prominent social change at a larger scale. In this perspective PAKISTAN INSTITUTE OF INTEGRATED MICROFINANCE came in to existence to accomplish the real goals and objectives of the sector which are being neglected at a vast level. It is a non governmental

organization having highly committed, self motivated, innovative and enthusiastic grassroots experts as its founder members. Pakistan Institute of Integrated Microfinance is the first organization in Pakistan aiming at millennium development goals with a holistic approach. It is addressing Health, education and vulnerability along with poverty alleviation. Although PIIM is at its early stage but its vision ,mission and objectives are very clear and inevitable to address particularly in the countries like Pakistan.

PIIM has a tetra bottom line approach with very creative manners, and the same four are the dynamics of the institution.

We don’t provide loans, we provide social loans PIIM is a movement for socioeconomic prosperity, Building a new sphere of integration. The main goal of PIIM is a peaceful social and economic revolution

through the four components of microfinance, social performance, integration and social change. It has started working initially by collecting information about its target market which is Home Based Workers, low income entrepreneurs particularly women

entrepreneurs, People living with HIV, sex workers, Heejras(Transgender), destitute and vulnerable poor. PIIM has aimed that The huge untapped market of home based low income workers could be a very fertile area for micro finance in Pakistan and also could be made productive with the power of microfinance and Social Performance. The PIIM has also a strong notion that the ultimate financial sustainability can not be achieved without social sustainability.

An entirely innovative module of integrated Micro financing of PIIM The PIIM has adopted a very unique way of integration by recruiting qualified physicians, Hakeems(herbal experts) Homeopaths as Social loan Officers and Teachers as accountants for working with community the field. So that they can provide free of cost first add and basic medical facility to the clients at recovery meetings and in medical emergency at any time. Being a teacher by temperament the accountant working in branches of PIIM is pleased to provide a quality time to the children of the clients for their home work as a free tutor. So PIIM focuses on strengthen social and sentimental relations with clients by making available social services for them and their children along with health awareness and business education within their premises. By providing them above free of cost medical, educational and technical facilities PIIM not only save their money but also make them healthy, motivated and enthusiastic.
