(CPR) Basic Life Support For The Health Care Provider DISCLAIMER El Centro College is an approved Community Training Center for CPR for the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association, and any fees charged for such a course do not represent income to the Association. Designed for healthcare providers and professional rescuers. Lifesaving skills of respiratory (choking and near-drowning) and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infants. This course was designed to be repeated multiple times. Follow American Heart Association Guidelines. Automated External Defibrillation (AED) is also introduced. An American Heart Association card will be awarded upon successful completion of the course. This course fulfills the requirements for entry into several Health Occupations programs (ADN, Respiratory Care, Radiography, etc.) and the RN and LVN Refresher courses in Continuing/Workforce Education. All participants must register by noon the day before class starts. Course materials must be purchased at the bookstore and reviewed prior to the course. CPR Recertification Skills check-off This class is for individuals who have completed the didactic portion of the recertification course directly through the American Heart Association website and are in need of a skills check-off only. Upon completion of the online component, students will make a one-hour appointment for skills checkoff at El Centro College.

CPR basic Life Support Instructor Educational theory and skills necessary to prepare the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) instructor candidate to present lectures; facilitate skill stations; and conduct student evaluations in CPR courses. Topics include instructional methods, class motivation, audiovisuals, and mannequin care. An American Heart Association Instructor card will be awarded upon successful completion of the course. Prerequisite: Must hold a current Health Care Provider card from the American Heart Association. Must register in person 2 weeks before class date.
