Formation of a Parents and Supporters Association I am sure by now that you have heard of the changes taking place at the Unit. The resignation of CPO Colin George and Christina Rowberry was unexpected and we the Staff and Cadets of T.S. Royal Forest wish them well in their future endeavors. The Staff and Chairman of the UMC held a meeting on Monday 14 July 2008 to chart the future and appoint a new Commanding Officer and 1st Lieutenant. During the discussion it was decided that it would be beneficial if we had a Parents & Supporters Association within the management structure for the Unit. The Parents and Supporters Association would be made up of parents of Cadets and supporters of the Unit, they would be responsible for assisting the UMC (Unit Management Committee) in fundraising, and helping with repairs & maintenance of the Unit. The P&SA should also consider as part of their aims, to provide improved funding for equipment and services for the Cadets and encourage recruitment and Community involvement. Every parent has a skill which combined with the skills of other parents and supporters can lead to a viable working Team. If you are interested in the welfare of the Cadets and the young people in the Forest please come along and join the Parents and Supporters Association. The first meeting will be held at the Unit in mid August, if you are interested please indicate on the tear off slip below and you will be advised of the exact date and time of the meeting. We aim to hold an informal meeting every two months, discussing plans and ideas to support the Forest of Dean Sea Cadets Thank you for your support
