US June/July 2003 The former Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism John O’Donoghue TD visited Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York in June/July 2003 to attend a number of trade and media events arranged by Tourism Ireland. He met with and addressed North American corporate, trade and media contacts in Los Angeles and also had separate meetings with key tour operators from the West Coast of the US. He also addressed local trade and media in San Francisco. In New York, the Minister attended Tourism Ireland’s Tourism Marketing Partnership meeting and met with tour operators. The Minister also spoke at the official welcome ceremony for the Jeanie Johnston to New York which was attended by key corporate, trade and media contacts. The Minister was interviewed for the PBS television show “Out of Ireland” which broadcasts to over 6.5 million viewers. He was accompanied by his wife. MONTH

Visit by Minister O’Donoghue to Australia 26th October – 5th November 2003 The former Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism John O’Donoghue TD visited Australia in October/November 2003 where he undertook an extensive programme of meetings with key travel and tourism representatives in Australia and media interviews. The Minister met with and addressed over 40 travel and tourism representatives and 50 media at two separate Tourism Ireland events in Sydney, and at a Tourism Ireland event in Melbourne (to approx. 30 people). He also addressed an audience of 70 people at a reception at the Irish Consulate. He met with the Hon. Sandra Christine Nori, MP, State Minister for Tourism, Sports and Recreation, New South Wales in Sydney and with Mary Delahunty, State Minister for the Arts Victoria in Melbourne. He also met with the State Minister for Tourism & Major Events, Victoria, John Pandazopoulos. He also had a meeting with Ken Boundy, Chief Executive of the Australian Tourism Commission and with other representatives of the Commission. He was a guest of Governor John Landy, Governor of Victoria. The Minister performed the official opening of the Emerald Travel offices in Melbourne and attended and spoke at an Irish Chamber of Commerce/ IRFU event in Melbourne which was attended by 300. He attended the Compromise Rules Match Australia V Ireland and the Australia V Ireland rugby international. He met with representatives of the equestrian sector at the Melbourne Cup where he also made a speech and presentation of Waterford Crystal. The Minister was interviewed by Channel Seven Studios for the Breakfast TV Show Sunrise which has an audience of approximately 2 million and by Tony Delroy for ABC Radio. He also carried out media interviews with the Irish Echo, Independent Newspapers, Traveltrade, Celtic FM and Travelweek. He was accompanied by his wife.

US 27th October- 1st November 2004 The former Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism John O’Donoghue TD visited Houston and Dallas for meetings with the Presidents of two key airlines, Continental Airlines and American Airlines. The Minister also met with and addressed over 70 trade and media contacts at a Tourism Ireland event in Houston and over 65 local trade and media contacts at a Tourism Ireland event in Dallas. Tourism Ireland Media and Travel Agent Seminars Los Angeles, February 2005 The former Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism John O’Donoghue TD led a delegation, with representatives of the industry from Ireland and market-based tour operators that delivered key messages to a group of over 150 key US travel trade representatives at a Tourism Ireland Travel Agent Seminar in Universal City, Los Angeles. US April 2005 Visit of Minister John O’Donoghue and Ireland West Delegation The former Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism John O’Donoghue TD led an Ireland West delegation on their promotional visit to the United State in April 2005 to brief the North American travel trade on the West of Ireland. Key messages included ease of access and the West of Ireland’s key attractions. The Minister participated in several events for the travel industry, including the official opening of the CIE Tours office in New Jersey. The itinerary also included a reception for key trade and media contacts in New York to launch the Galway Arts Festival. He was a guest of the Governor of Victoria, Victoria Racing Club and Coolmore Stud and took part in a media event and panel discussion on racing during the Melbourne Cup. He met with representatives of the horse racing and equestrian sectors and with the Governor of Victoria, Victoria Racing Club and Coolmore Stud and took part in a media event and panel discussion on racing and the bloodstock industry. The Minister addressed travel and tourism representatives, key airline executives and media at Tourism Ireland events in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.
