Busting Tips As a single person, how can I overcome sexual sin? Fornication is sex outside of marriage. This may be the question on your mind. Depend first on God's power to overcome sin. Ask God daily for the power to resist this temptation. Provide no doors for sexual sin. Avoid music, novels, movies, etc. that glamorizes promiscuous sex, as this will open your thoughts to this sin and weaken your resolve against it. Memorize a few of these scriptures, and speak them when you are tempted to fornicate. Example: I resist the desire to fornicate for the Bible says... Realize your body is too precious to be tainted by sexual sin. Thus, develop hatred against corrupting your body through fornication Avoid extensive time alone with the opposite sex. Since many people are attacked at bed-time, the best thing I found to ward off wondering thoughts is to play a sermon cassette dealing with whatever topic you choose to prior to going to bed.
