Our Statement of Aims Friends and Relatives of the Disappeared-Toronto 1. To research and document the evidence of genocide in Canada and at Indian residential schools and hospitals, and educate the Canadian public and the world about this genocide. 2. To hold accountable the churches and government responsible for this crime, by: a) bringing about full disclosure of the crimes, especially concerning the deaths and disappearance of children in these facilities; b) bringing to justice those persons and institutions responsible; c) forcing these persons and institutions to release and repatriate the remains of the dead children to their families, without conditions, and d) helping establish an independent, international Tribunal of Inquiry into crimes of genocide in Canada, past and present. 3. To actively de-colonize ourselves and Canada by ending the practices, attitudes and institutions responsible for genocide, and by helping indigenous people reclaim their sovereignty, lands and identities. 4. To engage in public protests, educational campaigns, direct action, advocacy, and any other methods to achieve these aims, in alliance with other indigenous and non-indigenous groups in Canada and around the world.
