LAKE MACQUAIRE AFC
PRESIDENTS REPORT 2008 Season 2008 has been an important transition period for the club. As Lake Macquaire Crows, we fielded a 1st grade side in the Black Diamond Cup competition for the first time. Our season would not get off the ground without the support of our sponsors especially the Teralba Bowling Club. I would like to congratulate our Senior Coach, John Jannissen for his efforts in what was a challenging year, which did stretch our resources and player depth. I would also like to thank our 2nd grade coach Mike Sleeth for his efforts and also Tom croft for his work as U18’s Coach and just missing out in playing apart in the finals series. I would also like to thank the Team Managers, players and Julie Young our fitness trainer for their efforts in 2008. The Crows Junior Club season was notable, firstly by the switch to a Sunday competition, for Auskick, U10’s and U12’s with the occasional U14’s also played on Sunday. A big thank you to all the coaches Steve Thurlby, Andrew Vennell, JJ and Mick Sleeth. Thank you to all the Junior team managers and a special thank you to the parents. Our junior club increased player numbers for the season, and I was pleased to see a large number of new faces, with a number of new families joining the club. I congratulate all the players who received awards at our presentation day and those players that represented our great club in representative football through out the year. Our aim is to improve our off field performance, and with that, increase our player numbers, and player skills, resulting in on field success. Having said that our mission is to have children and adults engage in sport for fun and fitness and we should not lose sight of that fact. A special mention to Denise Halls, who work tirelessly in the canteen through out the season. Thank you on behave of all the club. I would like to thank the club for the honour of being appointed Life Member. The club has come a long way over the last 10 years and I think we realise that the club is still in its infancy, with a number of milestones to achieve.
