Born at los angeles country general hospital on October 14, 1939 

A teacher who currently hold the position of professor and nurse theorist at the Boston college school of nursing 

Became a member of Sisters of saint joseph of carondelet in idaho and arizona. 

Earned a bachelor of art with a major of nursing at mount st. mary’s college in angeles in 1963 

Was Born in 1924 at lowell ,ohio



she worked in variety of nursing roles that include 



-hospital staff

 

-head nurse

 

-school nurse

 

-industrial nurse.

In 1957 Dr. Neuman attended the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) with double major in psychology and public health. 

She developed her first explicit teaching and practice model for mental health consultation m the late 1960s before the creation of her systems model. Neuman was a pioneer of nursing involvement in mental health. She developed taught, and refined a community mental health program for postmasters level nurses at UCLA.
