Water: 1. Urine 800-1500 cc 2. Inspiration 400 cc 3. breathing 400 cc 4. feces 100 cc 5. Metabolic H2O Nutrients: 1. glucose 4.3 Kcal 2. proteins – 4.1 Kcal --> 1g/Kgl24 hour 3. fats – 9.3 Kcal Vitamins Only for long term infusion Minerals Na, K (the most important)

Mostly given intravenously but can be apply to a layer of fat (usually beneath chest), intraarteia or to bone marrow.
