HEALTH CARE 1 Concept and principles in the provision of basic health care in terms of health promotion / maintenance and disease prevention of the individual and family level. NURSING CARE MANAGEMENT 100 (NCM 100) Nursing as a service, an art, and profession. It includes a discussion on the different roles of a nurse emphasizing on health promotion, illness prevention, utilizing the nursing process a basis for nursing practice. NCM 101 (PROMOTIVE AND PREVENTIVE NURSING CARE MANAGEMENT ) Developmental theories and concepts, to critically analyze health needs and concerns of the individual, family and community. NCM 102 ( Curative and rehabilitative Nursing Care Management) Concepts and principles of nursing care management of clients with alteration in human functioning across the life span in varied settings. SCITECH Concepts on new trends in Science and Technology specifically in the field of medicine for the benefit of the society. NURSING PROCEDURES Theories, concepts and principles in Nursing Care Management for the promotion, prevention and rehabilitation of clients with various conditions. It focuses on the basic nursing procedures that are needed for the care and management of clients. MEDICAL ETHICS The first three parts of course deals with the first aid course needed for a certain situation and the last part deals with the basic medical ethics. The subject will give the students the idea for the immediate care when a need arises and the notion for the right conduct and morale of a medical profession.

RULES ON ATTENDANCE Health Care Services NC II 1. DCMC students are expected to attend their classes regularly and punctually. 2. In case a student is absent, he must present an excuse letter signed by his/her guardian/parents. For working students: A letter from his/her employer is necessary. A student is responsible for all assignments /lessons during her/his absence. 3. When student had been absent due to contagious diseases, he must also present a doctor’s certificate. Secure the necessary permit from the Registrar Office, to be allowed to attend classes. 4. The maximum number of hours of Permissible Absences per modules are as follows For

100 hrs. to 140 – 25 hours 160 hrs. and up – 35 hours

5. Once the number of hours of Permissible Absences is consumed the student is automatically dropped from the subject and given a mark of FA (failure due to absences) 6. Final responsibility of recording student absences belongs to the faculty member who in turn must furnish the College Registrar. 7. Consideration in exceptional

cases is given only by the College Registrar in

consultation with the faculty member concerned, both of whom should be seen/consulted by the student. 8. Absences incurred due to late enrollment are counted as absences. 9. A student who is not able to submit the excuse/admittance slip on time to the subject teacher he/she has been absent is still considered absent in the said student. 10. A student who leaves the class after the attendance has been checked for about fifteen minutes and comes back later without any valid reason is considered absent. 11. Absences during official school functions/ affairs/ activities are considered late. 12. Anyone coming to class beyond fifteen (15) minutes is considered late. 13. Three times is late equivalent to one absent.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM RESEARCH

Students are grouped into 10-20 persons each with a leader and given recommendation letter to different baranggays or association, to ask permits where seminars are being conducted about Family Planning, HIV/AIDS. Some groups are asked to make professional interviews to Doctor, Politicians and other related professionals in the community, it is recorded, this is done by appointment, student are required to record the interview. Some are required to visit/ observe some orphanage and rehabilitation centers. And also makes interview to the victims & clients. Nursing Assistant students are required to assist public Hospitals for first year once a week and for 2nd year twice a week.

CAREER GUIDANCE PLACEMENT

The Human Resources Department, headed by Mrs. Marie Elisette Sampang is always updating itself about Job Hiring. It informs and requires students to attend Job Fairs and recommended qualified students to companies who are in need of workers. The HRD conducts a yearly seminars for all graduating students regarding on Job placements and personality enhancements to be able to guide the students to their chosen fields. The department also teaches the students the WHAT, WHEN, WHERE and HOW of their chosen fields. Human Resources Department advises the students to be aware of the job openings through classified Ads in newspaper and even surf the internet here and abroad.

HEALTH SERVICES TO STUDENTS

Divine Colleges of Malolos City has its own Clinic, College Nurse and College Physician. Every semester bonafide students of this college as well as its staff are being checked up for preventive measures.

The clinic is available anytime for ill students and staff of Divine Colleges.

The Clinic contains First Aid Kit, Medicines, Pillows and Bed.
