All services shall be performed in accordance with established principles, practices, and ethics of the medical, nursing and specialty professions/organizations. The standards of performance for all contract employees provided by the contractor shall reflect the degree of care, skill, and learning expected of a reasonably prudent health care member in the same profession. All contract employees shall perform essentially the same functions, within the scope of acceptable nursing practice, as those required by the Army or government service health care professionals of similar experience and in similar duty assignments. Staff Orientation: Contract employees shall participate in all staff orientation or training that may be required as a precondition to performance as may be prescribed by the MTF commander and be paid at the standard contract rate by the government. Such orientation may include instruction on automated processing, department orientation, unit orientation, customer service, HIPAA training, Annual Review and Command Orientation, standing operating procedures (SOP), local in-services, quality improvement programs, and safety programs as designated by the MTF. This shall be conducted as part of the contract employees regularly scheduled shift. Maintain required unit-specific clinical competency and increase knowledge by attending unitlevel in-services as appropriate and update CBO folder as information becomes available. The contractor shall insure any annual or mandatory training requirements are accomplished during off-duty hours at no additional cost to the government. Prepare all records and reports as may be required in support of services rendered and as required by the MTF Standard Operating Procedures, Federal Law, or Service Regulation. All written reports and documentation shall be legible and/or entered correctly in CIS or CHCS and shall be considered property of the government. Take part in clinic Quality Assurance and Process Improvement programs as required meeting the standards of the Joint Commission of Accrediting Hospital Organization (JC). Comply with all safety procedures and practices associated with the facility and OSHA. Document care given and the patient’s response to the care provided in the medical record. Prepare service reports and collect data as required by MTF. Assists with clinic/unit related administrative tasks. Work under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide basic patient care services. Take vital signs, recognize when vital signs are outside acceptable parameters and notify nurse responsible for the patient. Notify nurse of changes in the patients’ condition. Assist patients with activities of daily living; bathing, grooming, eating, walking and notify assigned nurse of deviations for accepted level of activity of daily living. Assist with medical examinations and procedures. Provide social and emotional support to patients and families.
