“Alliance is working to build a united community in Northern Ireland. The Agreement is not the ceiling of our ambition, but the foundation on which we can build a shared society. “Alliance is working for an open, free and fair society. Only Alliance rejects the notion that we must all be boxed into ‘two communities’. “Alliance is working to give everyone something better than tribal politics – a genuinely shared future.” Jayne Dunlop

ALLIANCE WORKS for
North Antrim While the Assembly was working, Alliance members established a high reputation for their work both in the Assembly and in their constituencies. Locally, David Ford made more speeches in the Assembly than any of the other five MLAs – and asked more questions than all of them put together. Alliance supports the Agreement, but is opposed to the petty sectarianism of traditional politicians, which has damaged the opportunity to make real changes in Northern Ireland. You can no longer depend on the other parties to make the Agreement work for everyone. Alliance has shown that it can make a real difference. We will continue to work to build a united community.
Alliance Working ~ Making the Difference • Alliance MLAs saved the Assembly from collapse in November 2001. We have shown that we are prepared to take risks for peace. • Alliance proposals set out a new vision of how we can live and learn, work and play together. • Alliance is the only party to speak out against all illegal paramilitary flags and murals. • Alliance successfully proposed the appointment of a Children’s Commissioner to protect the interests of children in all aspects of government. • Alliance has persuaded the Government to introduce ‘Hate Crime’ laws, creating stiffer sentences for racial or sectarian offences. • Alliance helped to block proposals for an amnesty for paramilitaries ‘on the run’. We demand that those exiled by paramilitaries must be allowed to return home in safety. Community Relations

At the Westminster election, many people voted for their second choice, to defeat someone they disliked even more. This time, with PR, you can make your real first choice number one. Only Alliance seeks to represent the whole community, not just one section. Environment/Transport
