•Norman Rockwell was born on Feb. 3 of 1894 •He was born in New York, New York •Rockwell was known for this work on The Saturday Evening Post •Rockwell published a total of 321 original covers for the post in 47 years •He dropped out of high school at the age of 14 and went to Chase Art School •When he was 18 he did his first book for Carl H. Claudy •At 19 Rockwell became the art editor for Boys Life

•His first published magazine cover was Scouts at Ship’s Wheel on the Boys’ Life in September of 1913

•During the first World War he tried to enlist in the Navy but was denied because he was under weight •When he was up to weight he became the Navy artist and didn’t see an action on his term •At 21 Rockwell moved to New Rochelle, NY where he shared a studio with the cartoonist Clyde Forsythe •Rockwell moved to Arlington, Vermont in 1939 •He had three children with his first wife

•In the second World War Rockwell painted the Four Freedoms Freedom
