Mr. Thakorlal Dahyabhai Khatri, of Stockton, passed away on September 10th, 2009. He was 70 years old. The funeral was held, in Lodi, on September 15th. The Late Thakorbhai was one of our Mandal’s founding fathers. Our prayers go to his family and friends.
GARBA NIGHT: Livermore Temple
Mrs. Bharti Suresh Parmar, of Castro Valley, organised Garba with dinner (a non-Mandal event), on September 25th, at the Livermore Shiva Vishnu Temple. Bhartiben also generously informed the Mandal to invite our entire Khatri community. The Mandal, on short notice, immediately supported this special event by publicising information to you all through a combination of our online resources: website, Facebook FanPage, and emails. As a result, 100 Khatri’s attended (on top of the several hundred from the Gujarati community). All had a thoroughly entertaining evening to celebrate one of our great Indian festivals – Navaratri. The Mandal wishes to thank Bhartiben & family for their effort in promoting our culture.
