Doug Lines has sent this profile from his” hideaway” in the North Hastings born in 1942.Educated in Hastings and on leaving school served an Auto Electrical Apprenticeship. On completion moved to Napier to set up and run my own business. I sold up fifteen years later and moved back to Hastings to buy an apple orchard and Packhouse. I served twelve years on the H.B. Fruit growers Association. I passed the orchard on to my Daughter ten years ago to retire and travel.We have a Motor Home so we travel around NZ confirming that NZ is the best in world. Since retiring I have been President of Hasting Host Lions Club for one year, and Chairman of the H.B. Area of NZ Motor Caravan Association for Four years and still a committee member, I hope I can fulfil the confidence you have placed in me.. .

Welcome to our meeting today , when we will take a vote to bring our rules into line with Friendship New Zealand. We are indeed very grateful to Don Jackson who has worked tirelessly to make our club rules fit with those of our parent body. Don has agreed to answer any questions you have on the changes and then we can take a vote.

Our speaker today will be retired school principal Paul Ryan who will talk to us about his recent walk along “The Camino Way” in Northern Spain.. Our Three Minute Speaker is Fay Evans. Our next meeting is Monday 7th May. Doug Lines will receive his chain of office . Brian Field is going to call Bingo on this day. Committee News. Since last meeting Marie Bulled and Carole Hawken have joined the committee We thank them for this. Ann Webb is unable to serve on the committee due to family commitments Joan Flanigan has very kindly offered to be our Almoner again this year.Thank you Joan. Margaret Armstrong is going to collect money and do the banking, Don Jackson is willing to record and write up the accounts. We are looking for someone to write up the cash book. Don is happy to give help to get started. Racing Day Thursday.24th May about noon. A list will be circulated today for keen punters Money to be paid in May. It is a fun day out! Once you are up the stairs we just step outside to watch the races..Be in to win.       
